You'll have to forgive my lagging behind all the early adopters with their small hats and extra large fives, but Tasker is a virtual object of remarkable utility.

It doesn't appear to eat all the cycles, either.

(God, the last time I worried about that I was writing a copperlist. Has a damn phone got more horsepower than my old Amiga?)

Probably does have, but then the Amiga proved that it really is what you do with it that counts.

There's a uae4droid. I've not transferred my ROM over yet so I can't vouch for it

Surely much much more. Don't know what your phone has but mine has a ARM chip (Cortex-A8 if that means anything to you) at 600 MHz plus a 3d accelerator and 32Gb on board. I don't think it's even a contest. Not quite as good as a real low end netbook but still better than any desktop I owned 10 years ago.

From a pure MHz-and-Mb view, PCs have been 'quicker' than baseline Amigas since circa 1992. From the point of view of 'Can your machine emit something like the Spaceballs demo', the landscape's rather different.

Heh... that sounds a lot like special pleading to me -- I'm sure you can find some task or other that any given machine was pretty good at. "My ZX81 may *seem* underpowered but try comparing its bootup time to a modern PC."

In any case we're not talking 1992 are we... my phone processor power is nearer 2000 I imagine yours is not significantly different.
