Hmm. I've not been keeping up on my performance enhancing drug stories. What's the dish on L-Glutamine?

For a long time I dosed up good on Glucosamine because it had a very nice placebo effect on my beginners arthritis, but, well. Yeah.

is there anything that can help with the old knees then?

MSM/Chondroitin/Glucosamine is the daddy[tm] for knees.

see http://www.myprotein.co.uk/products/msm_glucosamine_chondroitin (use code MP110857 for 5% discount off first order, I get points)

Glutamine != Glucosamine - they do very different jobs and the former will not really help your knees.

so perhaps the only performance-enhancing white powders are still the ones that come in gramme wraps.

Very likely - Ben Goldacre may have analysed that somewhere. My aunt swears by glucosamine, but then she believes in god too.

No offence intended - faith vs proof is a state of mind in my opinion, rather than a hierarchy. My point was just that if faith = belief without proof then after the ultimate act that is religious faith, belief in glucosamine is quite a small step :)

I'm a lady, BTW :)

ION, one of These landed on my doormat the other day, and it struck me as the sort of thing that the sort of people that like the sort of things that you like would like.

I'll have to beetle round t'local bikeshop to see if they've got one left. (The shope that I've been meaning to visit for at least a year because they started out reconditioning rubbish vintage kit and though I don't actually need a mixte...)
