(Fine actors, atmospheric locations... and some surviving bits of Wyndham poking through an utterly mind-buggering 'plot'. With Izzard playing a nutter who'd wandered in from a different film.)
We've watched the first hour - not sure if we'll bother with the rest. I *love* Wyndham's books and read them regularly; as you say, this was just recognisable, but was ponced up with so much over the top CGI it drove me mad.
Poor old Eddie seemed to spend the whole thing looking for a Mr Bond to be nasty too (world's most complicated audition?), but apart from that, I liked it.
Saw it desribed as 28 Triffids Later which I thought summed it up. Does Mr Izzard have a clause that says 'must wear good suits' cos if I had just fallen from a burning plane a tailors wouldn't be my first choice?

This seemed to have had changes made purely for the sake of it, the timeline was very fast, and I didn't like the triffids.
