Unaccustomed as I am...

... To trawling the 'entertainment' section (aka the 'Who in the name of 'Bob' are these people?' section) of the BBC webshite, I note with an appropriate amount of mirth the name of Steven Seagal's blues band:

Thunderbox.

Oh dear.

Mind, they're doing a fair old tour.

Naming oneself after a Victorian commode isn't necessarily a bad thing.

No, indeed. To use that name on LJ (or on-line in general) gives the impression of a somewhat devil-may-care attitude to the notion of online identity. (Hell, I'm still using a name given to me by Kewney. I don't have the wit to think up one of my own or go by what my parents call me.)

However, unless I sadly misjudge Mr Seagal and he's the local equivalent of Stephen Fry, hurling quips and witticisms hither and yon, I'm unconvinced that it's a joke.

I confess I chose it because I felt blogs were mostly full of shit. Since I'm an antique and my blog would be no different, a name that meant 'antique and full of shit' was entirely appropriate.
