Oh, that mug is fabulous. Is that from your surplus corporate mug supplier? What would you like for one of those? I so want one.

Yes. Buy me a beer the next time we're co-located.

After my petit bourgeois fulminations yesterday, I can't really indulge in spivvery, profiteering or other fifth-columnist behaviour.

Hah!

I have discovered that every print shop in the world that hasn't gone bust will put anything you like onto any object you like. I got a couple of very nice custom mugs done myself, 16 quid the pair posted to me. (Bounce when dropped, proven winners in dishwasher conkers although I've yet to put one up against the as yet undefeated Denby.) I'm now contemplating surprising people with a random mug delivery ideally suited to them personally.

But a found mug for lard ... that's a thing of beauty.

Good.

The shop also had a box of talking Elvis mugs. I avoided those, since they'd only be quickly smashed with hammers.

My god! The building is rotating!

Yes. It's rotated by hydraulics built inside the Cabot Tower. The water is pumped from the floating harbour by a series of rams installed in the basements of shops up Park Street.

Such a shame they couldnt just blow it up raher than taking it down a bit at a time..

Speaking of exploding things, you heading into town to see the fireworks tonight?

The temptation to use extra explosives to sympathetically remodel the surrouding area would probably have been too tempting.

I think we're having a quiet fester this even. The running business really does take it out of a chap.

I've had to peel myself up off the sofa from watching Dr Who on UK Gold as we're both knackered from cycling. But exercise is finally making me feel better. The first few weeks were hell and I felt worse because I'd let myself get way out of condition (my ankle didn't help matters), but now its starting to have positive effects again.

Running is bloody hard work, i tried it again recently and was most perturbed to discover it had become a real effort to cover 2 miles. The bouncy blonde from the rowing club who passed me at twice my speed with nary a laboured breath didn't do much for my fondness either.

OTOH the other option was to replace large sections of clothing again, and that was Just Not On.

Did you make it to any of the projections that the Cube/Blackout did had from Tollgate (Captain Scarlet) Carpark onto the tower?

What would have set those off perfectly would have been a giant disco ball hanging from the tower crane.
