The tyranny of the working week and other eighties jazzpop combos.

I've certainly mithered about Septembers recently. I've probably also gone on about Sunday Evening Terror and the Sign of Impending Doom that is the theme to 'Last of the summer wine'. I also recall opining that 'hump day' is a terrible thing to name perfectly serviceable Wednesdays. TGIF? Oh, do fuck off. Don't like Mondays? I dislike the Boomtown ( Read more... )

i agree entirely. and it would be lovely to be wealthy or highly skilled enough to live exactly that way. but i ain't. so every day i get up at the same time and go and sit in the same very, very boring place for 8 hours, except on weekends. and until i can stop spending 5/7ths of my life doing something i hate, i will be extremely grateful for the trick of compartmentalising those 5 days and making them fly past me as fast as humanly possible.

Hacking your internals is the key to transcendence on oh, so many levels.
In reference to the 29th commentary, and as your token American: "America is a nation of 200 million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable."

I can only blame the fact that I was minding my own on the bus on the way to work and there on a billboard lived a combination of words that served to confuse...security indicated I should 'Make a Plan, Build a Kit and Get Training.' Aside from the obvious difficulty from a process perspective of making a plan without first getting training, I read it as 'Make a Flan' (owing to a lack of coffee) and couldn't reconcile custardy goodness with national security.
Then Billy's Smart Circus came on, my mind fixed on the word kit, and I had to see the state of your state.
Dunno what works for contact anymore....I'm first period last in google's service if you so desire.

I have a book knocking about somewhere on how you can hack it all you like, the circadians will not be overridden. I should look it out and kill a few hours with it.

As a doley-scum type I am happily forgetting the concept of days, time, the working week and consumerism. OK, so not so 'happily' on the last one.
