You know, I had never thought about it before. Is French sometimes just used as a modifier to make something sound more elite? fancy? Like when car advertisers brag about Corinthian leather?
Or like Chinese was used as shorthand for confusing or wacky Chinese checkers, Chinese jump rope, Chinese fire drill none of these things came from China....
