Non-spoilery comments on Silence in the Library

Well, that was the least scary "scary" episode ever. Funny, intriguing, but not brilliant and definitely not scary.

I'm hoping that it's like most two-parters in that it depends largely on the following episode (which does look about ten times better, from that trailer), or else Moffat has really let himself down.

You sound pretty underwhelmed. How was it over all (aside from not being scary, that is).

A good episode, actually, with some funny bits and some emotional bits and it's definitely interesting. It's just quite slow, you know? I usually judge how good an episode is by how often I have a strong reaction it (laughing, screaming, going OH MY GOD!) - and there wasn't much of that compared to previous episodes this series.

It's not what we've come to expect from Moffat, basically. And I was looking forward to be scared to step in the shadows but, er, I'm really not. *grins*

I get the feeling that next week will be a lot better, and it'll be brilliant as a two-parter.

I was mostly going, "Oooh, books! Shiny!" - ROFL! I think it has the potential to be really emotional and intelligent, they just promoted it wrong so I was disappointed by both the lack of scary and the underusage of Donna. And I am afraid of the dark, even now! I'm not afraid of super-fast flesh-eating dust mites, though...

Although I might go clean under my bed now... - Haha! Good plan.

Completely not scary, but I still did totally love it. Next weeks does look better, but I don't think it'll be much scarier *pats Rach*

You've not met me - I've sort of just been flitting around livejournal (while it's all new and shiny and confusing for the newbie), but I've been reading your fics for a long time and they're all so lovely, so I figured now was as good a time as any to say hello!

... And read this and had to agree. I'm scared of the dark normally (ha, that's a great thing to start admitting to everyone) and thought that this episode would be absolutely terrifying. Perhaps they've got something planned for next week, but otherwise it was a little disappointing.
At least the library was pretty though.

Ooh, hello! =D And thank you!

I'm scared of the dark normally - *whispers* Me too!! Shadows stealing people would be scary. This wasn't. This was just like...y'know, staying away from really fast ants or something. It would've been scarier if we didn't know what it was, and no silly plastic skeletons were left behind.

Perhaps they've got something planned for next week - I hope so! Looks fairly promising, from the spoilers I've seen, anyway.

At least the library was pretty though. - ROFL, yes. Our pretty quota for the week is fulfilled! And Catherine Tate, though unused, was, as ever, brilliant.

It would've been scarier if we didn't know what it was, and no silly plastic skeletons were left behind. Lol, the Doctor Who ants strike again! The head tilt is scarier than those skeletons. Not that it works for shadow-deaths, but there's gotta be something else.

I'm just happily waiting for the return of Rose and hoping they won't make it horrible and heartbreaking.

Catherine Tate, though unused, was, as ever, brilliant. She is wonderful! But the season is running out - they should be giving us as much Donna as possible!

- Do you mind if I friend you?

LOL, your icon! Pushing Daisies is awesome. =D

The head tilt is scarier than those skeletons. - LOL, it is!

I'm just happily waiting for the return of Rose and hoping they won't make it horrible and heartbreaking. - Ooh, blimey, me too. I can handle heartbreaking, I just don't want Rose to have changed too much or walk away without good reason or for either of them to not love each other any more, any of that sort of stuff, you know?

But the season is running out - they should be giving us as much Donna as possible! - Mm, I agree. Hopefully she'll be around more next ep! I sort of feel like Moffat just doesn't like writing women he didn't invent haha.

Do you mind if I friend you? - Not at all! =D
