Doomsday

So. A year since Doomsday, hm?

Blimey.

Quite apart from anything else, I have to say that I'm not entirely sure where the last twelve months sped off to.

Yes, I did rewatch. Yes, I did bawl like a baby. Don't tell me you didn't do the same (if you'll forgive the double negative) =P

I won't be weeping at the mention of S3's finale title in a year's time ( Read more... )

Oh yep. I became teary eyed during the Fear Her firework scene. Needless to say I was also bawling at the end of Doomsday... especially the wall scene. For me, there was a real sense of moving on with this latest viewing of AoG and DD because the new series began a couple of hours later.

I won't be weeping at the mention of S3's finale title in a year's time, I can tell you that much.

Totally agree. Has it really only been a week or so since the finale aired? O_O I guess I just wasn't as emotionally invested as in the previous series.

(I bought The Runaway Bride on DVD today and felt like such an awful traitor. Can you believe I'm still this hung up over a television show?!)Aww. Well at least it isn't the third series dvd? Actually I'm trying to decide if I'll even buy it. On the one hand you a have references of Rose throughout... but then again there's still that sense of guilt with buying the ( ... )

I became teary eyed during the Fear Her firework scene. - Mm! I remember watching that for the first time and being utterly in love with the whole cute episode, and then everything was blown completely out of the water by the AoG trailer that followed. *sigh*

Has it really only been a week or so since the finale aired? - I know! I have such a warped sense of time, and I don't even have TARDIS travels as an excuse! =P

Well at least it isn't the third series dvd? - Mm. I've decided I'm not going to buy any of those. Considering the only episodes I actually liked were Blink and Utopia, it'd be a total waste of money.

Oh, think of it this way. In the Runaway Bride you have a couple of clips of Rose! - *grins* True, true! Despite myself, I'm rather excited about S4. I don't suppose it can be worse than S3, in any case.

Hmmm... I actually really enjoyed S3 and LotTL, esp. a certain someone's death scene. To each his/her own, I suppose. *shrugs* Then again, nothing can get me bawling quite as much as "Doomsday".

And hey, this is really random, but would you mind if I friended you? From reading your fics and bits of this lj I've decided you're just really really cool.

I actually really enjoyed S3 and LotTL, esp. a certain someone's death scene. - Oh, absolutely. The acting was just outstanding on all sides (though especially from the wonderful John Simm =D). I thought LotTL had some amazing moments, but then all the Dobby-lookalike parts ruined it for me. Once you've been pulled out of the story enough to go, "What IS this? WHY am I watching?!" then I suppose it's quite hard to go back.

And, y'know, I wish I could've enjoyed S3, but for some reason it just didn't happen =(

And no, not at all, go ahead! New friends are always fun =)

Try a rewatching? I got pulled out of the story when the Doctor started floating and glowing, but then I thought about it, rewatched, and wasn't bothered quite as much. As for Dobby-Doctor, I just loved the Master's reaction; his disbelief made it work for me. Plus the mini-Doctor was cute in a puppy sort of way.

Ah well, there's always next season, not to mention the previous 2.

Yay! :D

I'll give it a whack, yeah =) You never know - I might be less incredulous rewatching because I'm already aware of how this stuff's going to happen.

Ah well, there's always next season, not to mention the previous 2. - Yeah =D I'm really excited about S4, actually, in a way I never could be about S3. I just hope they keep the storylines a little less "out there" this time... =S

At least you've managed to watch it again. I just can't.

What still baffles me is that, according to "DW The Inside Story", that is officially a happy ending (at least for Rose). A fiction maintained in DWM and Billie Piper's autobiography, then completely blown out of the water by the actual S3.

Basically, I'd be over it by now if the Doctor was.

I suppose they mean happy as opposed to like...Rose becoming a Cyberman? *grins* And I suppose she has all her family around her (although, if you ask me, that just adds insult to injury because it's like everything she ever dreamed of - and now she wants something entirely different).

Basically, I'd be over it by now if the Doctor was. - I don't know if I would be, but I have to agree with you in that my Rose angst pretty much doubled over the weeks of S3.
