BROWNIES!

Nov 09, 2010 12:07

Hey guys, I'm trying to surprise my boyfriend with the BEST brownies ever. I'm not a brownie connoisseur, so I don't know any recipes. I know I could google it, but I want seriously AWESOME tried and true recipes. Preferably with no nuts! Thanks!

my husband makes them for me when i'm pmsing and they are so so great. afaik, he just adds - maybe .5 cup? - and doesn't replace anything. i will ask him.

ha ha ok, i am ignorant on the subject - he says that he uses baileys instead of water - whatever amount is called for on the box.

Nuts are always optional. I opt never to add them, because they take up valuable space that could be occupied by chocolate.

I'm in love with Alton Brown's Cocoa Brownie recipe. They turn to fudge in your mouth.

I really like the one bowl brownie recipe on Baker's Unsweetened chocolate.

Yes!

Strangely, salted butter/good-quality salted stick margarine tastes even better in this recipe than unsalted.

It's the contrast of salt and sweet :)

This is the recipe I use, except I use a good 80% cocoa dark chocolate. Easy and fudgy and wonderful.

I love this year's Cook's Illustrated Best Brownie Recipe. You couldn't possibly stuff more chocolate in there :D
