look, i'm not trying to attack you here, but i felt like i should comment since i was one of the people who commented on your fic. the first commenter was extremely nice, i thought. she complimented you on what you had so far, but mentioned that you might get more readers and more people willing to comment on your fic if you had a beta to help you fix up the grammar. and since you did ask for reviews, it seemed like a constructive comment to me. the problem i had was that your comment in return sounded rather snotty and dismissive of someone who was legitimately trying to help.
i know my comment was rather blunt and perhaps a bit harsh, but i honestly don't get it. do you want constructive criticism or not? do you want to improve or not? the "i've been writing for a long time and i don't like working with a beta" and "i don't have any issue with what i've written" implied that you thought your fic was perfect as is and didn't need any improvement. and when you went on to say that maybe you just shouldn't post your fic at that comm
