Myths and Legends of Russia: the Illustrations

Let us have more pictures, shall we? Several of us are experiencing December blues and quite unable to rouse ourselves to the spirit of the season. I hope these may provide a few moments' entertainment at the very least.

I never did manage to post these illustrations here. I did post a link to my dA gallery instead a few months ago, but links are ( Read more... )

I know I've already told you this, but the Baba Yaga illustration is one of my favorites of that tale, ever!

Gorgeous work, truly.

Thank you so much, Grace! I've also probably told you already that it's one of my own favourites of this set, too. :D

himmapaan, I don't know if you remember me -- I do a poor job of commenting here and staying active on deviantart, but I've been following your art posts for quite some time.

And I suppose I just wanted to echo _siddal_ and thank you again for sharing your creations. I find not only your art so very inspiring and beautiful, but also your words. It is always wonderful to read your updates. :)

I do indeed remember you - both here and on dA! :D (one can't forget such a wonderful username! ;)).

Thank you so much for your kind comment; I'm very touched that you like to read these entries as much as see the pictures. :)

So lovely! The crane in The Fox and the Crane especially caught my eye - such a clever and striking use of negative space. And the Firebird, standing out in such blazing red.
I know it's a very cheeky question, but would you mind terribly if I used that image as an LJ icon for a little while? I've been using the one I have for nearly two years and I should find a new one - and your Firebird is so beautiful.
