I really really really love and prefer Massu's vocals over Tegoshi's as well, but there's just no denying about what that kid could do when he controls his notes and reins in everything that ruins them, like screaming hahah. This is why out of all his solos I like Platonic the best, the first half anyway - and then there's Tegomasu stuff, too.
I actually feel like a broken tape recorder at this point venting all these thoughts. I didn't realize I've already talked about them last year after the whole mess. Perhaps it's because we haven't really gotten to process the entire ordeal the way we should have. To put it simply, I want to hit a Tegoshi pinata the way Massu did on Gochi(?) with all my might, haha.
The new songs haven't really grown on me yet (except for Beautiful, but then I get sad again when I realize there is actually a 4nin version of it somewhere we cannot reach now), but yes, I truly hope NEWS's music will be able to comfort us again the same way they always have.
I guess venting out as much as needed is the only way when Tegoshi-pinata is not available :) And I agree 100% about Platonic being a perfect example of what that guy is capable of when he isn't trying to show off how loud he can be! It's my fave solo of his, too
The newer songs grew on me after I listened to them a couple times - mostly thanks to the lyrics, but the music and the general feel are nice, too... Well, if nothing else, the poetic power of the word 'oborozuki' alone is impressive (lol)
*sigh* There's so much we've lost, and ideed, it just happened too abruptly. But maybe it's possible to salvage something precious
