Toma's Room 4/25 Vol. 490

May 19, 2012 22:39

In order to understand the audience feelings towards the screening of 僕等がいた Part 1 & 2 at the same time, I experienced a similar situation as well.

I watched one time screening of Kanadehon Chuushingura at Shinbashi Enbujyo!

From 11am to 9pm!!

It was 8 hours excluding the intervals!!

So long!!! (laugh)

The last act. I felt the Uchiiri* scene has finally arrived!
Definitely there was a sense of achievement.

My high school good friend, Onoe Matsuya appeared in this performance. After the performance ended, while over dinner, he taught me the history of Chuushingura, the rule that can only be used in Kabuki, and a lot of things.

I see, I see. There were a lot of things to learn.

So this is the investigation result.

The one time screening of 僕等がいた Part 1 & 2 is not so complicated as compared to Chuushingura. (laugh)

Yoshikuro (It should be Yoroshiku, i.e Please support me. But Toma wrote it the other way round)

*A famous scene in this Kanadehon Chushingura

I cannot imagine myself watching a performance for consecutive 8 hours. Applaud for Toma's patience! I wonder if he has backache the next day.

Note: Ask first if you want to re-post my translation.
