Hottest (1/?)

Title: Hottest (1/?)
Author: himawarixxsandz
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Eventual!Orig3
Summary: If you can't take the heat, that's just too fucking bad.
A/N: Because these are short, I can post one or two up, even three, in a day. It only takes me about half an hour to write each one up. And so KiWoon's storyline happens simultaneously with DooSeob's and after the Taxi timeline fiasco that I'm dealing with, I thought it'd just be easier to write Hottest and Cabi at the same time, and save Crazy for last since as per usual (I swear I don't do this on purpose) JunSeung is going to be the last to get together. In a way, actually, JunSeung can't get together UNTIL DooSeob and KiWoon do.

Episode 1 // Episode 2

Dongwoon swears that this wouldn’t have happened if Dongha’s alarm clock hadn’t woken him up and because of the new surroundings, Dongwoon hadn’t been able to fall back asleep despite the fact that he’s not the one who needs to be downstairs, poolside, and ready to start training. He swears that if he hadn’t been woken up that early, he wouldn’t have stumbled and nearly knocked this kid to the ground.

Although he supposes that even if he wasn’t only half-awake, he probably still wouldn’t have been able to dodge this guy anyway-not at the speed he was sprinting at.

“I’m just-really-I’m-sorry,” Dongwoon says, rubbing the possibly-blooming bruise on his chest and reaching a hand out to pull the other man up with him. “Sorry-just-late night, and-sorry.”

The first thing the other man does once they’re both back on their feet and looking at each other-

He laughs.

The other man laughs while Dongwoon stares-he stares, because not only does he not understand what seems to be so amusing, but because the other man is dressed in a uniform exactly like the one Dongha left in earlier this morning and all that’s streaming by Dongwoon’s thought process right now is that if this is what the lifeguards look like, then maybe Dongwoon should have applied after all.

“It’s okay-relax,” the young man says, his eyes disappearing even further, full lips stretching over white teeth. “I was the one running, anyway.”

He tells Dongwoon to relax-

So Dongwoon does.

Dongwoon relaxes, smiles back, hands in his pockets and letting his eyes trail lightly (discreetly) up and down the lifeguard’s body. “You’re not going to be late or anything, right? I heard that the training doesn’t start for an hour.”

“It doesn’t,” he agrees, shrugging, “But I’m-”

Dongwoon’s head turns at the same time the lifeguard’s does-down towards the opposite end of the hall where a person, a person in a lifeguard’s uniform as well, is walking towards them in brisk steps. The young man in front of Dongwoon doesn’t move-just blinks his eyes and pouts his full lips until the other lifeguard reaches him, one hand on his hip and looking at Dongwoon curiously. “Who’s this?”

“Oh,” the young man turns his blinking eyes to Dongwoon now. “I-um, I don’t know, actually.” He smiles again-that smile that makes eyes disappear and teeth flash. “What’s your name?”

Dongwoon swallows and smiles back-this time, with a little bit of difficulty. “Son Dongwoon. You’ll probably see my brother down at the grounds.”

“He’s a trainee?” says the other lifeguard, and Dongwoon’s eyes travel to bright orange hair. He holds his other hand out towards Dongwoon suddenly-the hand that isn’t clamped firmly on the other young man’s waist. “Jang Hyunseung.”

Dongwoon takes it-shakes it firmly and they both bow at the same time. He tries not to stare-tries not to look so closely when the hand that he’s just shaken travels back to the other side of the dark-haired lifeguard’s waist, slipping casually beneath the hem of the sleeveless uniform shirt. “Lee Kikwang,” this lifeguard finally says, and offers his own hand-clasping Dongwoon’s and bowing as well.

“Nice to meet you guys,” Dongwoon makes himself say, pasting a smile on again and this time really, really tries not to stare as one of Hyunseung’s legs steps in between both of Kikwang’s. He knows he shouldn’t care-knows that they’re just two strangers, but he feels something akin to disappointment pooling in his chest.

It pools in his chest, and then starts to reach a slow simmer when Kikwang smiles at Dongwoon one last time before he and Hyunseung go off towards the elevators with Hyunseung’s hand vanishing into the back of Kikwang’s shirt.

Dongwoon spends the rest of the day wandering around the resort and trying not to think about Kikwang because why should he?

Kikwang’s a stranger-a hot stranger who Dongwoon would’ve flirted with except for the fact that he’s clearly a hot stranger with a boyfriend and while that at least means he’s gay, it also means he’s out of bounds and now Dongwoon probably should find another potential summer fling.

Kikwang’s a complete stranger.

He sits down at the lobby of the fifth tower and sighs, politely refusing when an attendant comes and offers him lemon water.

A hot stranger-a really, really hot stranger.

With a boyfriend.

“Hyung,” Dongwoon says when Dongha has finished showering the chlorine out of his hair, when he’s finished getting changed out of his uniform, when he’s collapsed properly face down on his bed, exhausted after the first day of training. Dongwoon leans against the doorframe, arms folded across his chest. “You got a break, right? For lunch?”

Dongha grunts.

“Did you talk to people?”

Another grunt.

“Did you meet these two guys-Jang Hyunseung and Lee Kikwang?”

Dongha rolls onto his back and bolts upright. “You mean my instructors?” he asks, squinting at his younger brother. “The gay ones?”

“They’re gay?” Dongwoon asks right back, nonchalantly. He raises his eyebrows.

“Yeah,” Dongha says, falling back into his pillows. “But don’t get any ideas-they’re dating each other. The two other instructors in the squad had to-like-rip them apart during the CPR review demonstration. It’d be funny, except Lee Kikwang made everyone do squats for half an hour before they let us into the water.”

Dongwoon moves his eyebrows up and down. “Oh.”

His brother frowns at him. “Wait-how do you know them?”

“I don’t,” Dongwoon shrugs. “I just heard some trainees going down talking about them and wondered who they were.”

This time, it’s Dongha’s eyebrows that go up, looking thoroughly unconvinced as Dongwoon shuffles out of his older brother’s room.
