I'm toying with posting more regularly in lj (or someother blog). fb sucks for long form posts and I'd like to get back into that.

Some djork took hillgiant.blogspot.com, so I need to decide if I want a different moniker or not.

One thing I like about LJ is it's a good place to vent, in that you can restrict the reading of posts to friends or certain groups of friends - haven't seen a way to do that on Blogger (blogspot) or WordPress yet. I do a book review blog on Blogger (plus participate in three group blogs) and I have my "professional" blog on WordPress.

I haven't posted much here of late but I'm going to try to do more too - I agree with you, Facebook isn't friendly to longer posts. Apparently you can update FB when you post a public entry to LJ, see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=279&q=facebook&lang=
