I get what your saying. I do. It's very much just *headdesk*.

And I'm all for British people getting their money, I'm just annoyed at how their politicians are behaving. :( They could do this more diplomatically, no?

Is gonna check out your story. ;)

Well, perhaps he could be more diplomatic and I'm sure he's a lot more diplomatic behind the curtains. But he's not talking to Icelandic authorities through the press, he's talking to his potential voters who are at least 40 million and since the Brits are feeling the tremors of the international crisis themselves, the people are scared there as well and they want their politicians to be firm. I don't know, I'm just expecting this or something.

But yeah for checking out my fic as it's one of my favourite of my puppies.

That's what I said in a post on my lj. That I thought he reacted so harshly and publicly because he's trying to earn brownie points. *Nods*

Will have to read later, net being a pain and Leno is on.

And the brownie points are often the only thing a politician cares about.

I saw GB on Sky and that was not pleasant - he has ruined so much with his words and actions and then holds us responsible for everything. Our government is incapable etc. and I'm angry at them all, but mostly at the entrepreneurs who have now ran away.

Congrats with the story - and the banner is pretty

I don't necessarily agree that GB has ruined so much with his words and actions. For Kaupþing possibly. Landsbankinn was ruined to being with. But Icelandic banks are and shouldn't be a priority of the British Prime Minister - not with an international economy crisis on hand. Gordon Brown isn't the man for us, the Icelandic folk, to hate. We need to point at the government and the entrepreneurs and hope that we ride this depression as smoothly as possible as we can.

And thank you.

Just saying I agree that Icelandic banks should not be his top priority, not withe everything else going on.

Of course the banks are not his priority, but it does make sense that it would be easier to get money from Iceland for one collapsed savings fund rather than two or three. That and all the miscommunication between the governments (that apparently nobody is guilty of) is what caused much of this. IF Brown and Darling (funny name for a guy, eh) are telling the truth somebody in Iceland screwed up and should be blamed, but IF the Icelandic government is telling the truth then why on earth did the pair of them say that Iceland had refused to pay anything.

And I'm not even going to start going into that Iceland is only responsible for a certain amount per savings holder.

You just told the truth. But flames over that post would be amusing.

How can you say that? You know his mom!

Do I know Árni Matt's mom? That's news to me.

(Haha appropriate icon.)

... it's entirely possible I'm misremembering things here. I'm really bad with names. You know someone who has a son in politics, but all of a sudden I can't remember his name.

Ah, yeah, I know who you mean and Árni Matt isn't her son. Another Árni is though.
