Clearly, you've forgotten the defniition of liberal; it's a person who hates freedom. And puppies.

Part of the problem is that "conservative" and "liberal" have had their meanings stretched and twisted like a yogi in a blender. In contemporary usage, "conservative" is used to mean "Republican," "Judeo-Christian," just "Christian," "Old Testament," "small government," "pro-business," or any number of other things depending on the user's prejudices, not even counting the original meaning of "resistant to change." (And that's ignoring those persons who use it as a synonym for "moronic" or "provincial.") "Liberal" is now similarly unhelpful as a stand-alone descriptor
