Chapter 8: Cinderella, Part 2
Seohyun had been in the self-study room with other people for more than five hours now. She had been going over a few materials that her teachers informed them that they would be discussing for the next few weeks. She wanted to try and get ahead of the lessons, so that she would have a heads start on the lessons, and to getting into her studying momentum.
Their last year of middle school ended on March 3 and high school started on April 7. They only had three weeks of summer, which was very sad and even though she loves to study, thinks that it’s a waste. She could have done tons of summer school and workshops over the summer.
Or better yet, she could have started on the new book that she had been wanting to read for a long time now: The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun by Gretchen Rubin. It was originally an English book, but due to popularity, they had translated it to Korean and she wanted to read the book in both languages, as books tend to lose its essence and the depth of the words whenever they translate it into another language.
She had also been wanting to improve her English, that was why she also wanted to finish the book. She thinks that knowing more than one language will help her in the future.
I guess I’ll be disturbing Sica unnie and Fany unnie for a while, she chuckled to herself as she turned the page on her Trigonometry book.
f(x)=3x+4; find f(x). Oh, it seems fairly easy enough, she read as she scanned the book with her finger pointing to follow along the line. She went back a page before and read the lesson chapter: Functions. After 10 minutes of reading, she finally got the gist of the chapter and started trying the problems.
She grabbed her phone out of her pocket first to look at the time.
10:56pm.Should I go? I think I have more time anyways. 30 minutes, 30 minutes. She flipped to the next page.
“Yah hyung! Get down from the table!” Yonghwa shouted as Hongki was standing on the table in the center. He was surprised that the table didn’t give in to Hongki’s weight.
“Shut up! MWUHAHAHAHAHA! I’m the king of the world!” Hongki ordered alcohol an hour before and now, almost everyone in the room was drunk, except for Yonghwa, Jessica, Jungmo, and Jonghyun. Jungshin and Minhyuk drank a little bit of alcohol, as Yonghwa threatened them that they’d be staying and sleeping outside if they get drunk tonight.
“Woohoo!” said Taeyeon as she got up the table and started dancing along with Hongki.
Tiffany and Sunny were singing U-Go-Girl by Lee Hyori while Hongki and Taeyeon were dancing, with the others laughing at how stupid they look. Jonghyun, after rounds of laughing, stood up and sat down beside Yonghwa, who was trying to get the two to get down from the table.
“Hey hyung, doesn’t Hongki hyung like Taeyeon-noona?” He asked.
“Huh? Oh yeah, she’s the girl he talks to us about before.” Yonghwa replied as he still tried to get the two down on the ground.
“Okay, thanks hyung.” He said as he returned back to his previous seat.
Sunny and Tiffany had finished singing and it was now Sooyoung and Hyoyeon’s turn to sing. The two girls sat down on the couch. Tiffany had heard what Jonghyun and Yonghwa were talking about and had thought up of a great idea.
“Hey…” She said as she sat down beside Jonghyun.
“Hey. You okay?”
“Yeah, anyways, let’s set them up!”
“Who?”
“Taeyeon and Hongki.”
Jonghyun spilled his juice on his pants as that was he had actually been thinking about when he asked Yonghwa his question earlier.
“Girl, we think alike.” Both of them grinned and motioned Sunny, Yuri, Minhyuk, Jungshin, and Yoona to come closer. Yonghwa and Jungmo were in the couch just beside the door and saw that the others were up to no good. They saw the group glance at Taeyeon and Hongki, who were still dancing like crazy along with the song.
“Ah… I think I know what this is,” said Yonghwa. He wanted to intervene with their plans but when he glanced at how Hongki’s smile was when he was dancing and singing along with Taeyeon, he couldn’t help but put his thoughts aside. He never saw Hongki smile that much with a girl’s presence. He had only seen him smile that once and that was when he got his own guitar as a present for his 12th birthday.
“Ahahahahaha, those kids are up to no good again.” Jungmo pointed out as he drank the last of his soju. He had been drinking along with the others but it seemed that he wasn’t the least drunk at all. Jungmo’s body’s tolerance to alcohol was high, that was why he doesn’t get drunk easily.
Jungmo grabbed one of the binders and tried looking for a song.
“Oh! My Goddess. Oh, Yonghwa-ssi, do you know that song?”
“Oh yeah, that newly released one? It’s good. I’ve been trying to play it on my guitar but there are some parts that I just don’t get.”
“Oh, wanna sing it? Since those kids over there would probably be busy and these two won’t stop dancing, I guess we should have fun with the mic? Oh. What part don’t you get?”
“Uh sure. Ahahahahaha, yeah you’re right. Those guys over there would probably be busy. Oh, the interlude. It seems easy but whenever I tried playing it, I just can’t seem to get it right.” He confessed as he grabbed for the two mics that Sooyoung and Hyoyeon just used and gave one of them to Jungmo.
“Hmmm… 104580? That part’s easy, but not that I’m bragging or anything. I guess you just gotta do the beginning really fast and then quickly changing the chords and then back again to the previous one.”
“104580.” Yonghwa announced as he pressed the digits in on the mic’s built-in dialpad to choose for songs. “Is that so? Shoot, I knew it was easy. Oh, the song’s on.”
The two stood up and went a few feet away from the TV and started singing.
As soon as the song began, Taeyeon and Hongki stopped to look at each other’s eyes and went down from the table. All of a sudden, the two started jumping up and down along with the tempo of the song.
The group who had just done plotting their plan, since they had to tell Sooyoung and Hyoyeon of the plan, had all sat down on the couch and watched as the two started rocking it out with the two rockers, Yonghwa and Jungmo.
“Ahahahahaha! Those two look funny!” Yuri said as she and Sunny started laughing their butts off. Hongki started to twirl his head, just like what Western rockers do during their performances, and Taeyeon followed. They looked like two idiots who were twirling their hair around in the air while their heads were still rocking out with the song, which they were.
40 minutes had passed ever since Seohyun last checked her phone. She glanced up to look outside the window and noticed how dark it was now. She took out her phone from her pocket and her eyes grew in shock.
“Omo! It’s already 11:40! I need to go home now!” Seohyun grabbed her things on the table and immediately stuffed them in her bag. She looked around if there were still people around and there were around 5-6 people, including the teacher in charge of the room, left in the room. She was relieved she wasn’t the only one left. She rushed outside the door while abruptly texting someone on her phone.
She had earlier texted Taeyeon that she was still in school and she didn’t text back. Even if it was as simple as something like that, Taeyeon had always texted her back, even if it was as short as a “Take care.” She then guessed that maybe they were too busy with having fun at the noraebang but she brushed it off and went back to studying then.
Seohyun, instead, texted Jessica. She knew that if Taeyeon didn’t answer, the others might not answer back as well. And the only person she knew who she could text after Taeyeon was her Jessica unnie. Even though Jessica was sometimes seen as cold and mean, she was nice and caring and she knew she was somebody she could count on.
Unnie!
Are you with
with the others?
I’m at school
right now.
I’m on my way
home. I didn’t
notice the time.
Just letting you
know ^^
-Seohyun
Jessica’s phone was on the table, along with the others’, and Taeyeon grabbed Jessica’s as it was vibrating.
“Yah! Jessica! Message!” She shouted but to no avail, Jessica didn’t hear her, as she was busy singing a duet with Tiffany. She shrugged and just opened her phone for her. It might be important, she reminded herself.
Just as she read the message, a plan popped into her head yet again.
“Ah! Yong-seobang! You should go home now! I see that you’re tired already!” Taeyeon said as she stood up and grabbed Yonghwa’s arm and started pulling him to stand up.
“Oh, I’m okay, it’s cool.”
“What’s with the sudden outburst unnie?” Sooyoung asked while coming up behind Taeyeon. She grabbed Sooyoung’s hand and went to sit with the others. She showed them Seohyun’s message and everybody tried to connect the dots.
Seohyun going home + Yonghwa going home too = First meeting
“Wait, is your dorm on the way to ours?” Sunny asked the CNBlue bros.
“You guys live right next to the Han River near the center of Seoul, right? Well, yeah, our dorm is at the far left of Seoul so I guess your dorm is on our way.”
“Okay! We’ve got a plan now! Finally! A plan that’s about to happen!” Taeyeon said as she did a “Hwaiting!” pose.
“Yong-seobang! You should go home! You really look tired!”
“Hyung! Go home already! Your eye bags are reaching up to your mouth now!”
“Hyung! Check if the dorm’s been ransacked! I don’t want people stealing my mangoes!”
“Your eye bags do look like as if it’s reaching up to your mouth.”
“Aish! Why do you guys want me to go home that bad?!” Yonghwa couldn’t help but shout. He saw how Jungshin and Minhyuk were snickering at each other.
“Yong-seobang.” Taeyeon put her hand on Yonghwa’s shoulder as she sat down beside him.
“We are all doing you a favor. Go home now, before it’s too late. You’ll be thanking us later on, that I assure you.” She said in a serious voice with matching expression. Yonghwa could only look at Taeyeon as she nodded.
“Uhhh… Okay… But how about you guys?”
“Oh, Jonghyun hyung is here with us so don’t need to worry!”
“Yeah, can’t you trust me for once?” Yonghwa had been thinking what they said during this morning’s ceremony about hanging out and decided to let them slide this time.
“Ah jashik! Just come home okay? Don’t forget that we still have school tomorrow. And we don’t have practice today, since we don’t have enough time.” He said, as he looked the clock on the wall.
11:48pm. It was already this late?He thought that they were acting creepy but he decided to go along with their plan. The truth was, he was also getting sleepy and had been wanting to go home for a while now. He grabbed for his phone and shoved it into his pocket. He also grabbed for his bag.
“Annyeong.”
“Annyeong!”
“Take care!”
“Oh! Yong-seobang! This may seem weird but go to the bus stop at the next two stops instead! You’ll thank us for this later on!” Tiffany said as she put her hand on Yonghwa’s shoulder and pushed him out of the room, as she locked the door.
“Bus stop at the next two stops?” He said as he scratched his head in confusion. There was a bus stop a feet away from the entrance of the noraebang and they wanted him to take the one two block away?!
“Aish…” He said as he went outside and started contemplating on their advice. He saw the bus at the nearby bus stop already.
“Should I go in?” He asked himself as he started nearing the bus.
“Ah! I just missed the bus!” Seohyun said as she ran to the bus stop with a few minutes missing the bus. She had arrived at the bus stop and put her hand on her knees as she tried to catch her breath.
“Ahhhhhhh!” She whined as she looked at the back of the bus.
“I guess I’ll just have to wait.” She said as she grabbed her phone out and texted Jessica.
Unnie.
I missed the bus.
I might arrive home
late than usual.
-Seohyun
“Aish…” She said as she sighed into the thin air, as the cold wind night of Seoul caressed her cheeks and flowed through her hair.
Yonghwa had decided to just take the group’s advice and was now currently minutes away from the bus stop. He had his hands in his pocket and was looking at the ground while walking. You could see his breath due to the cold night air.
“Why should I thank them for making me walk two blocks when my feet was already at the bus stop?”
Minutes ago…
Yonghwa had already had his foot on the bus but after a 5-second thinking session, decided to withdraw and follow the advice he was given. The driver looked at him in confusion and pulled the lever to close the bus door. The bus drove off with Yonghwa sighing at the distance he’ll be venturing to go back home.
As I start walking to my destination, there she was. Standing in all the glory and beauty that she beholds. I could not help but stare at her from a distance. She was beautiful, and she stands up to the nickname that I gave her -- goddess.
I didn't expect her to be here of all people. Were my eyes lying to me? Aish! was all I could say as I rubbed my eyes with my fists to save me from this beautiful, yet deceiving dream -- hallucination -- of mine. It's all a hallucination, I said and truthfully, it was just that.
It was all just a dream.
Just a beautiful dream that could never happen.
Ever.
Kyuhyun had woken up from his sleep.
He glanced to the clock beside him.
11:55pm, it said.
“Ah… I thought it was already morning,” he put his hand over his eyes as he tried to go back to sleep.
As soon as Yonghwa left, the group decided to go ahead with their plan. Jungmo knew they were up to no good but he decided to let them be. Jessica was also the same, but instead she didn’t care what the others did.
“Let’s set up Taeyeon noona and Hongki hyung. Since they’re drunk, this’ll be easy. Let’s just try and leave them be, that okay?” Jonghyun whispered, in hopes of the victims not hearing him, and they didn’t.
The girls tried to suppress their giggles. “When?”
“I dunno. I’ll give you the signal if it’s okay.”
“Okay.” The others said as they give each other a thumbs up.
“But when you guys go out, make it less suspicious and try and go outside after a few seconds or minute. Try and communicate with each other to decide who gets to go out next.” Sunny suggested.
---------------
5 minutes later…
“Ah! Can I go out to get some fresh air?” Yuri stood up and stretched while she went out.
“Oh! I need to go out too! I need to freakin’ pee!” Sunny said as she pretended to jump around, as if she was holding it in.
1 minute later…
“Oh, somebody’s calling me you guys.” Yoona said while holding her phone and hurriedly made her way out the room.
2 minutes later…
“Shoot! Where is it? I think I dropped it outside!” Hyoyeon said as she frantically tried searching for something in her pocket and bag before going outside the room.
20 seconds later…
“Aish!” Jessica said as she angrily stomped towards the door and slammed it shut after making her way out. Jungshin, Minhyuk, Jungmo, Tiffany, Jonghyun, and Sooyoung were left looking at the door after Jessica slammed the door. They didn’t know that she got on to their plan, and to their surprise, went along with it. They guessed they didn’t need to drag her out.
All of a sudden, Jungmo stood up and quietly went outside.
2 minutes later…
“Do they have mangoes outside?” Jungshin said as he stood up while motioning Minhyuk to stand along with him.
“I think they do. Let’s go check!” said Minhyuk as the two maknaes made their way outside.
40 seconds later…
“Oh dad! Hey, hi.” Tiffany put her phone to her ear and went outside the room.
1 minute later…
“Their food here is not that great. Wanna check their vending machines outside?” Sooyoung asked Jonghyun as she stood up and grabbed for her wallet inside her bag.
“All you think is food.” Jonghyun said as the two both gave each other the I’m-doing-this-for-the-plan look while making their way outside.
It was only Hongki and Taeyeon who was left inside, and they didn’t notice it until the room finally became quiet.
“Oh, where are the others? Did they left already?” Taeyeon said as the two both put down their mics on the table and scanned the room.
“Their bags are still here. Maybe they just went outside for fresh air or something.” Hongki said as he went for the door and looked around for their friends. Indeed, he saw Sooyoung and Jonghyun at the opposite side of the hallway, infront of a vending machine. Tiffany was by the stairs as she was talking to somebody in English.
“The two will notice that we’ll be gone so try and keep up with your act for about 10 minutes to avoid suspicion.”
Hongki went inside the room and plopped down on the couch. Taeyeon was busy going through her bag while finishing the rest of her soju.
Hongki couldn’t help but stare at Taeyeon. How the hell could a girl like her fall in love with a guy like him? He wasn’t even qualified to be called a man in Hongki’s book. What he did to her last year was inexcusable. He didn’t know that Leeteuk was despicable. Not only did he cheat on her, he didn’t even feel sorry for doing so when Taeyeon confronted him about it and broke up. But the worst was when he spread the rumors about how he broke up with Taeyeon, instead of Taeyeon with him. He was stooping down to that level, all for his pride.
Tch, he doesn’t even have an inch of pride in him. He thought as he gulped down a whole bottle of soju.
Taeyeon had caught Hongki staring at him, but she tried observing him at the corner of her eye. She could see his expression and it scared her a bit. When she found out about Leeteuk cheating on her, he was the first one she ran to. Hongki and she were the best of friends. They were close, that the girls have been teasing them that Hongki likes her. But to her disappointment, he always denied it. Not that she liked him or anything, but she was still unsure of everything.
She vowed to never love again, after what Leeteuk did to her, but with Hongki, she couldn’t help it. She shook her head aggressively in order to get her thoughts out of her head, thinking it would help. She gulped down a bottle of soju and she got drunk even more, after she was sober from earlier’s.
The two were in their own little world, thinking about the other. They didn’t notice that the other was staring at them until Hongki broke the air of silence around the room.
---------------
"Hey..."
"Hey there yourself." She said with a seductive voice.
Taeyeon wasn’t really herself today and her inhibitions had already left her. She sat right up and scooched over to his side. She locked arms with his and started sliding her forefinger along his chest.
I couldn't help but get turned on at what she was doing. It was so wrong yet, it felt so right. And my senses numbed as she pursed her lips and pressed it to mine.
She tastes so good, that I could tell. It was sweet, and all the more addicting. I wanted more of her. Not just a simple kiss, but more. She quickly pulled away, as if she was teasing me. My mind went crazy and ballistic when she pulled away. I knew I would regret doing this later on but I let my hormones get the best of me.
I grabbed her wrist and pulled it towards my direction, sending her leaning on me and I pressed my lips on her, hungrily. I was kissing her very passionately, like I was deprived offood the past few weeks, or maybe months, and I was so ready to eat her.
All of her.
---------------
“Aish... Finally.” He said as he started to near his destination. As he lifted up his head, he was surprised at what he saw.
Are the gods now making it up to me, after everything they’ve done to me today? Aish! I think I’ll be doing what those guys said, thanking them. Ah! No better chance than this! Hwaiting Yonghwa! He thought as he tried to get himself together.
Yonghwa was feet away from the said bus stop, and he saw what he didn’t expect to see. He saw Seohyun, standing there.
11:57pm, the clock moved.
Seohyun noticed a presence and looked around to see who it was. She saw the guy from this morning’s ceremony, Yonghwa. She couldn’t help but observe his facial features since they couldn’t earlier on, as they were meters away from each other. His features seemed to become more prominent than when they first had their first eye-lock. All she could do was stare at him.
Yonghwa, who was in utter shock and glee, couldn’t help but stare at Seohyun. He knew she was beautiful but up close, she was nothing compared to any beauty that could be seen here on Earth, even up in the heavens. She was indeed a goddess.
The two didn’t notice that they were staring at each other.
After minutes of staring at each other, one broke the silence.
“Annyeonghaseyo…”
“Oh annyeonghaseyo…”
The two looked down at the ground at embarrassment, blushing, as they realized that they were just staring at the other. The minute hand then moved.
The clock striked midnight.
A/N: Anywho, I updated earlier since I'll be busy tomorrow. I just learned today that tomorrow we'll be going to Six Flags. As much as I love that place, I was planning on doing the laundry tomorrow and maybe do the YongSeo oneshot that's been lying here. Also, the book mentioned in this chapter is a real book. I was too lazy to think up of one.
Hmmm... What else? Oh, I watched a part of Heartstrings and OMFG! Yong is sexy! Ahahahaha, I rarely use the word sexy or hot but hey, his stares just melt me. OMG what more if he did that to Seohyun? Ahahaha, it might turn out the other way around. Yong melting from Hyun's stares xDDDD The reason why this chapter is titled Cinderella is cause of the last sentence, just letting you guys know.
Anywho, for the dream part thing, as I've told you, you shouldn't worry about it. It isn't Yong's that I assure you but I actually thought of having either Kyuhyun or Jinwoon hiding somewhere around the bus stop and he saw the two so yeah... Here's a little
preview for the oneshot :)
Anywho, I'll be putting that up next week, but I have to work on Chapter 9 of this story first. KYAAAAA! *spazz* YongSeo gets to meet next chappie :) Any suggestions on how to make their meeting sweet and memorable? I need suggestions people! I dunno if my plans for their meeting will make up for how long I made you guys wait so yeah, I need suggestions from my lovely viewers :)
THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS AND SUPPORT! IT MOTIVATES ME MORE TO WRITE SO KEEP THEM COMING!!!!!!
