"But you put on quite a show
Really had me going
Now it's time to go
Curtain's finally closing"
It was the last.
She didn’t know if she would be able to take it; he knew he wouldn’t be able to.
They both felt the same. But who were they in each other’s lives to speak out their issues, their dilemmas, their worries? Their feelings.
They both tried to make it through the recording, from morning, ‘til late at night. A whole day, dedicated to the other. They’ve decided to make it like their first meeting, hoping that it was the best way to deal with their departure from the show that made people, young and old, hope in a first love that also became the last. But did both of them believed the same?
Bitter smiles, childish jokes, and forced laughter; both had a goal for the day: make it as happy a departure as possible, but who said it would be this painful? They may be two different entities, but they both had the same thing on their mind.
And as the day was about to end, or more like the night, they were about to run out of time.
After setting down all of her stuff in the dorm, she goes back down to the lobby and outside, to say her final thanks, and goodbyes. Coordi noonas, the PD-nims, the writers, the cameramen, and of course, her co-star in the reality show.
He hurriedly ran to the front of the dorm, knowing that everything was just for the recording, and that now, the final goodbyes are to be said. Feet shuffling, his grey scarf billowing through the wind as he walked as fast as he can to the group of people he had spent the past year recording We Got Married.
“Thank you”
“We hope to work with you again”
“Just call coordi noona if you need some awesome styling”
“Thanks for the gogumas you gave us!”
Everyone was finishing up their goodbyes. Bowing, and waving, two eyes clash and meet each other’s.
It’s now or never.
Words of gratitude come out from the other.
“Thank you.”
Those were the words that came out of their mouths, but were that what they both wanted to hear?
Does a simple “thank you” sum up everything that they’ve been through?
They bid their goodbyes. She started going inside the building while he went on to proceed to his car.
The sand of time was shifting through their fingers. Trying to hold on to what’s still left, but eventually, every grain of sand will fall, and nothing would be left.
Will those sincere words, from the bottom of their hearts, only be experienced through various videos uploaded by fans on the internet?
Will memories only be seen through the pictures they had once had fun taking?
Will everything they’ve built through fifty-one episodes end with a simple farewell?
Will the feelings that grew from each and every recording be lost within the past?
Or will one of them stand up, and say the next hello?
“Seohyun-ah!”
She turned around.
"De oppa?”
Both of them ran to the front of her dorm, out in the freezing, windy night. But they didn’t notice that.
“Uhmmm…”
She was staring at him with those clear, innocent eyes of hers. But there was something else in them.
Something he had never seen in her before.
“What is it oppa?”
He was stuttering. It was on impulse. He was so used to seeing her the next day, or week, that he never really prepared himself to bid her a farewell, properly. But he wasn’t alone, as the girl, or lady, he was talking to thought the same.
“I guess it’s really the end now, huh?”
He was scratching the back of his head, looking like his choding self.
She nodded. “It really is.”
There was a moment of silence.
“I don’t really know how to say goodbye.”
“Me either.”
Laughter filled the air around the two. They stared at each other, engaging in a silent conversation that only the two understood.
One bowed, the other followed.
"That was quite a show
Very entertaining
But it's over now (but it's over now)
Go on and take a bow
But it's over now"
“Hello. Nice to meet you. Can we start all over again?”
A/N: I just recently watched the last two episodes of YongSeo and I couldn't help but cry again. And then, I looked up the cover of Take A Bow that they used in the show, and yeahhh... I'm listening to it right now. It's an awesome cover.
Anyways, this was sorta like a closure drabble for me. There are times when I would lose faith in them, thinking that "Oh, maybe they're not real," but whenever I watch even at least an episode of them, it gives me hope. Even seeing a gif, or hearing small news gets me really hopeful. And when I noticed how MBC didn't show what Yong's last letter to Hyun contained, it made me really hopeful. So here it is. And this is sorta done on a whim, so excuse grammar mistakes.
To people attending the FTBlue concert, I envy you D': I just wanna cry that I can't afford it. Aishhhh! Just wait until I get a job, I'll get front row seats at every CNBlue and SNSD concert in the US!
