Art: Ed Elric and Indiana Jones
by: hikaru-9
Rating: G
Genre: Gen, crossover
Warnings: Crossover pic of Indiana Jones and FMA.
Notes: I loved my doodle that i did for this a little bit ago and decided to finish it out and color it. Here is the final result. Done in a more comic book style than anime to accommodate both of the characters.

My crossover crack lies within )

XD I find myself snickering over the very great height difference between Ed and Indy. I mean, god, Ed's so.... not tall next to him.

I really like the way you color, and your inking too. *needs to practice inking *

I can't help it, i just see ed as being REALLY short compared to Indy! XD

I really enjoy working with traditional mediums. Markers and water color are my favorite to work with, though i like stark b/w ink work as well. Sometimes i just look at some of the gorgeous doujin out there and go, "why can't i ink like that!? Takes risks girlie! Get better!"

Haha, i pep talk myself a lot.

Hahaha, that'd certainly make any conversation between the two of them more dynamic!

:V The only traditional I reeeally like working with is pencil. Which is something I should really remedy.... Maaan, the last time I used watercolor was like... like a long time ago that I no longer remember.

@_@ Looking at gorgeous doujinshis always ends making me feel rather incompetent. I end thinking how I have a looong way to go before I can get that good.

I should probably pep talk myself if it gets me to use more mediums more often.

my brain can't decide what to do, its torn between giggling or being confused, to see the two of them in the same pic, as I have a general dislike of cross-overs. I'd explain further, but thats probably deeper into my head than you want to go.

or it could be the dirty thoughts of them as a pairing, and how disloyal that is of me to Roy/Ed.....

Hmmm, them as a pairing doesn't apeal to me because i like my Indy just the way he is: a straight, womanizing adventurer. It may be because he's kind of an archetype character... but i dunno, he seems complete the way he is.

Crossovers can be so incredibly good.... but they can also be dismally bad. There seems to be no middle ground with them, it's either hit or miss. I suppose that is the nature of joining two completely unrelated things. The only reason i can see a crossover between the two working is because Ed and Al have already dealt with artifact gathering Nazis, and they are in the right world at the right time for some adventures with Indy. Oh, the eopic adventures... how epic they would be.

Also, while i maintain that Indy is very straight in my eyes, i can still see him filling a kind of 'Roy' role in Ed's life when i comes to stupid bickering and height jokes. They would have a very entertaining "manly man" dynamic between the two.

I agree that Indy is fine as he is. I'm blaming the pairing bit on my sleep deprived and allergy fuddled mind and the thought that their ensembles matched well.

the cross-over thing, I will admit that I've read some, but when I choose to read one, I prefer that the randoms being crossed have a plausible link to them. like Dr Who and Torchwood, they have extreme plausibility in cross-over, because TW is a spin-off of Who. however, when the fandom starts crossing TW over with House and...can't think of any of the popular ones right now, but there's been alot of odd ones there, it just kind of makes me want to bash my head against my desk...repeatedly.

ROFL true, Indy would fall into a Roy type role for Ed quite easily.

I must admit Indiana Jones I am so clueless it aint even funny, but I would watch anything that had Ed looking like that.

you've never seen Indy!? really? wow. I mean yeah, its possible, its just those are movies that carry that "everyones seen it" assumption with it.

You know, i didn't really get the movies when i was really young, but when i hit the teens they became very interesting and just plain fun. They really are the movies that made archeology cool. And as much as i love the Mummy movies... they are still kinda the 'poor man's Indiana Jones.' Sorry Brenden Frasier.... ^^; They were fun, but not on the level of the Indy movies.

Eee, how charming! I'm an Indy fan from way back, and setting-wise it even sort of works. :D They'd bitch up a storm at one another. Though I agree with you that I can't really see it as a pairing, I could easily see them having Adventures. Brilliant.

I also love how much it emphasizes how short Ed is. Not that he'd like that pointed out...

It would be very fun to see them yelling at each other while Al tried to field the damage!

Indy and Ed are very much 'Heroes' to me, and i think that's what i like best about their characters. They are heroes, and very smart in their own rights, but not perfect.

short!ed jokes XD

I'm not sure how likely it is -- I've got so many other things gnawing on my brain -- but if the mood were to strike, would you object if I wrote a crossover featuring them? (With credit to you/your picture for the inspiration, of course.)

Pretty much, all my art is free game. So if you ever get an idea then just go with it! I get a lot of my inspiration form fanfiction as it is, so the cycle of creativity just goes round! <3
