[He's covering it up well, but if you're paying attention you may notice that Satoshi sounds a little worn.]

I've heard that some residents have been here for at least a year. Out of curiosity, does anyone know who has been here the longest?

Also, I am in need of a weapon for self-defense against the monsters. If anyone knows wh- where...

That's fine. Just make yourself at home.

[And with that, Maka retreated to the kitchen to make supper~.]

[He watched her go before taking a better look around the room. The size and furniture were of course similar to the one he resided in, but this one felt and looked much more lived in; like a home, rather than simply a place to stay. He wasn't meant for a place like this.

He considered leaving. No one was stopping him from walking out the door. Of course, it was apparent that Maka was the persistent type; no doubt she would come find him.

He decided to stay standing while he waited.]

[When she was done with the noodle soup, Maka poured some in a bowl and headed back towards Satoshi in hand with a spoon.]

Here you go! It's a little hot so, be careful.

[He accepted the soup without much more than a nod. It did smell good after he'd had so little to eat. He finally sat down then on a couch in the room, as it would be fairly awkward to eat while standing and he didn't want to risk his legs giving out on him either. He tried one spoonful; it was a bit hot, but manageable. Certainly better than nothing.]

[She smiled gently at him as she took a seat beside him.]

Is it good enough?

It's fine.

[He ate slowly so as not to make himself sick, all but ignoring Maka's presence.]

[He was a little surprised by that, and responded automatically.]

Why?

Well, you're in this city alone with any other friends or anyone from your world.

That's how it always is, regardless. It's no reason to feel sorry.

[She flashed him a soft smile.]

But it doesn't have to be that way.

[Back to this again. He set what was left of the soup in his lap.]

I prefer it that way.

I just..find that hard to believe you.

[looks down on her own lap, curling her fingers on the hem of her skirt.]

I-I mean,...when I was younger I use to be push a lot of people away and I was...very sad. But now that I have so many friends and people who care for me, I couldn't be happier and I've glad that I was willing to open up.
