I'm not sure about the meaning of "hikari", but if the symbols seem familiar to you, and evoke an emotional reaction in you, it's definitely possible they're a connection to your past. It happens with people sometimes, too- someone you feel an emotional response to, even if you don't know who they are or why you feel that way about them.

I mean, I never really considered that we could... have pasts other than here before now. The memory I had was confusing and stuff but...

From how it sounds and looks to me, yes, every one of us had a previous life we lost or were simply forced to forget before being born into this place.

I suppose you weren't born with some sort of feeling of having left something behind, or missing something?

That's all right. The odds are low that anyone here can, or anyone I've encountered.

I feel as though they should. I do feel like they're a bit familiar, but I don't know what any of these ones mean - just "hikari", the one from the dream.
