I personally like songfic, though I'll agree with you, 90% of writers butcher the hell out of them. When you write a couple of lines of fic, throw in a line of lyric, write a couple of more lines, throw in another lyrics, etc... That gets so choppy and annoying that I usually can't make it through the fic.

However, adding lyrics in between scenes adds a nice touch, in my opinion.

You're right, I'm sure it can be done well. However, I usually don't read songfics for the reasons you mentioned.

I think I'm gonna give it a try. I'm sure the results will be disastrous. XD
