Oh Merlin. That screech could only belong to one boy. Looking around frantically for Peter, Esme considered dashing down a side alley and pretending later that she hadn't heard his shout. Bound to fail, though, that plan - there was nobody within fifty miles that could've failed to hear that terrible noise!

Thus resigned to her fate, Esme branced herself for the high-speed collison with a small boy that she knew must be coming next. She closed her eyes for good measure, mainly so that she couldn't see what Peter was doing to all the innocent shoppers.

Here comes trouble!

Running away from him? Awww that wouldn't be fun! Or maybe it would be because it would be like a game! OH A GAME. BRILLIANT.

But no matter because she was waiting for the attack and he managed to break through the last few people (who complained about something and tried to swat him) but then lept into the air. It seemed like he did this a lot, attacking people, but he hadn't seen ANYONE in SO LONG. Especially those ones who helped him learn how to fly brilliantly. Ish.

Peter managed to fly right into her and then almost bounced off before bouncing around, "Esme! Esme! Esme! Hi!!! Guess what?"

Since Esme had braced herself she didn't actually fall over when Peter bounced into her, but she did expel all her breath in an 'Oof!' His voice ringing in her ears, it took her a minute to find him as he was bouncing around so much.

Focusing with some difficulty on the small, energetic figure Esme couldn't help but smile. As exhausting as he was, she couldn't really be annoyed with Peter. His enthusiasm and cheerfulness was just too infectious. "Peter!" she cried, real warmth in her voice. "What, what, what?" she replied, mimicking his over-excited tone.

See Esme was excited to see him too! His parents clearly didn't get that his friends were just that awesome and STUPENDOUS to be around. Everyone loved a little barrel tackle and yelling.

"I just bought a toad! A real toad that's all green and jumpy! He's fantastic and already makes croaking sounds!!" This was all said quite quickly before he suddenly erupted in what vaguely sounded like an attempt to be a toad croaking. If you strained a little bit.
