Lucky her. Esme would get to spend all the time she wanted at this wonderful establishment, whereas Alastar was stuck at home with his family most of the time, having to play up his usual scheme as he did when he was around them. Right now, however, he was allowed to escape for a while. To get out of the house, he had decided to tour with Penny over to Madam Maulkin's for baby clothes for Treasa even though he had no intention of staying with her long of course.

Alastar slipped inside the parlour, not even noticing the other patrons, and went straight up to the counter to admire the many different flavors that could satisfy his hunger.

Esme was really qute engrossed in her ice-cream and didn't notice Alastar enter, but her attention was caught when she glanced around and saw him at the counter. Breaking into a smile to see one of her Hogwarts friends, Esme called out to him. "Hey, Alastar! Alastar! Over here!" Waving, she tried to get his attention.

Hopefully he'd be able to hang about for a bit. She hadn't heard from him yet this summer and it would be lovely to see him. Esme loved meeting friends unexpectantly and she was delighted by this. Naturally gregarious, she was fine on her own, but ice cream was so much more enjoyable when the experience was shared, in her opinion.

After placing his order, Alastar turned at the voice behind him that called to him.

His lips curved into a smile at the sight of Esme Hinde sitting and enjoying her order of ice cream that looked somewhat delicious. "Esme, hello," he spoke calmly as he walked over to her. "Didn't expect to see you here. Do you mind if I sit?" Alastar nodded to indicate the chair across from her.

"Of course!" she replied, with a wide smile. Patting the other chair at her table, she encouraged him to come and sit down. "Come and tell me how your summer is going!"

Digging into her ice-cream, she looked up at him expectantly. Perhaps Alastar had been doing something exciting that he could tell her about and she could live vicariously through him! Her own summer had been fairly non-eventful thus far.
