Fi had been feeling odd at best.  She had swiped a chocolate that had been sitting on a table in the Common Room, sad and sorrid without an owner/eater.  Sure, her Mum had ( Read more... )

Erik didn't need a fanclub, he'd not meant to suggest that it was necessary. The point had been that he'd not really understood that she might possibly even think of him of anything more than just adventuring Erik Cohen because... he'd been informed she was swooning over Soren Sigurd! He didn't comprehend that swooning and FANCYING were two very separate concepts.

Not that he fancied her. At least he didn't think so. The little flips his stomach was doing was probably related to... oy, maybe he was allergic to chocolate. Totally possible. Maybe. No, probably not. Then... oy. Never mind. His stomach wasn't doing anything, thank you.

Perhaps that were true, but Erik had never really noticed the dress before, just... her. He paid attention to friendly things, not "OY FI LOOKS GORGEOUS" because... he didn't think that. He was Erik. She was Fi. Obviously ( ... )

Erik was surprised that he'd even be considered one of the smartest blokes she knew, let alone coming anywhere close to Folly, who she adored and brought to tea with her (usually) and... looked up to. He'd feel he wasn't worth such an honour, most likely. That time he'd tried to jump from one tree on the grounds to another, even though the branches didn't align properly? That had been spectacularly idiotic, indeed ( ... )

Honestly? The bud of their friendship started with a horrid amount of respect and admiration. He was something else, something special. She hadn't really voiced it to him, but he also reminded her so much of her hero Folly.. perhaps that's why she wanted to get so close to him and obviously did. That old saying about girls always wanting someone like their Da? For Fi, it was apparently wanting someone like her idol. He practically raised her, after all. Ten years older than her and he was always the one around her when her parents were off on missions. He was just the biggest male influence in her life so it was no big wonder that she'd find herself attracted to the sort of person that made her comfortable ( ... )

Erik would probably blush if he heard he reminded her of Folly, actually. He'd never really heard anything about the whole concept of a girl wanting to date a bloke like her father, guardian, male-influence type of person. He had heard once that opposites attract, but that wasn't really the case. If so, he'd have been off snogging... Hargreaves Beckett or some nonsense. Because apparently opposites didn't see gender. HAR. Ah well. He was much better off where he was right now ( ... )

If she wasn't so set on this entire thing being poisoning, yes, she'd likely blame that tosser Thatcher Hale. It did smell horridly of the 7th year and really, with every other girl on the block at least fancying him a bit, it would ensure that he at least had a week full of making out with various girls in dark corners that professors would not be dwelling in - OY, DID HE POISON THE STAFF, TOO? Wait, no. She had decided that it wasn't him before even entertaining the concept that it COULD be him. Bugger. Well, chalk that one up to the Slytherins as well, those gits ( ... )

Did every other girl on the block fancy Thatcher Hale? REALLY? Erik knew the bloke was a charmer, but it seemed more in good fun than actually successful. Then again, Erik didn't exactly follow him around. Whatever Thatcher was up to in dark corners and broom closets, Erik didn't want to know, kiitos. Though he was bound to find out eventually, being a prefect and all.

Ah, and Erik hadn't made the connection between the professors and the potions either. FANCY THAT. Perhaps there was some sort of larger conspiracy going on here. Oddly enough, the two people most likely to investigate were... he and Fi. They were somewhat busy at the moment.

Not that they fancied each other or anything.

Not that his denial even made sense at such a time. Bloody hell, he was really trying hard to fool himself now, wasn't he?

Getting snogged once was normal only if it were actually as short as she was suggesting. A quick peck on the lips or a kiss to the cheek, not a... kiss. He had kissed her and she knew it... though it would have made it much ( ... )

HORRID THAT THE TWO THAT WERE MOST LIKELY TO SUSS IT OUT (wrongly, of course, but at least they'd be sussing) WERE TWO OF THE ONES THAT HAD FALLEN VICTIM TO THE WRONG-DOINGS!! Which would have made Fi suspect those snakes even MORE, as anyone who was anyone knew that Fi and Erik were the mystery solvers of the castles. They were the ones that solved the mystery of Why All Slytherins smell, after all. They had something, those two ( ... )

Erik and Fi had definitely been successful with their attempts to rid Slytherins of the horrid vegetable-foot disease, as he'd never meant a single snake since that day who had the problem. They were also rather good with stealing tea, and singing songs, and could probably even cure the scrofunwhatsit in their sleep. Of course they wouldn't want to because then they'd have to go back to classes and they already didn't see each other often and it was... oy. No, they'd not be solving every disease problem, kiitos.

They shared something all right. Possibly a brain, but he wasn't going to think about the fact that it would mean he was practically kissing himself at the moment. AWKWARD.

Oh, Erik could have said that he'd accidentally slipped and fallen on her lips, but then he'd be showing signs of cowardice. TOO AFRAID TO BE HONEST ABOUT SNOGGING? Not Erik Valentin Cohen! Apparently he was too scared, however, to admit that there was any emotional reasoning behind it all. Some lion ( ... )

Merlin, they had done bloody terrific things together! Fi and Erik? Totally saved the Slytherin population from toes possessed by carrots. They didn't even have to, yet they did! If there was any sort of person that Fi just didn't care for, it was those snakes, and yet they SAVED them! Really, if the two worked together hard enough, they'd come up with solutions to all the world's ailments. Bird Flu begone. Seriously! But really, they had better things to do with their time. Like pulling pranks. And finally sneaking off into the Forbidden Forest. And snogging, apparently ( ... )

It was actually rather fascinating that Erik was one of the Gryffindors to not hate every Slytherin he came into contact with. It seemed that he, more than anyone else, had reason to despise them, a justification for his anger. Perhaps being so horribly terrorized by one made him realise that they couldn't all possibly be so evil. Apparently that didn't meant they couldn't ALL have vegetables on their feet, because they so clearly could in his mind. Or he'd gone along with Fi just for the thrill of adventure. He would say no more ( ... )

Well, Fi had no intentions of ever leaving him again. In fact, her Mum was already starting to plan out exactly how un-home Fi was going to be, at least for the next hols, as the apparent death wish on their family had Blair completely that her youngest would be about for another round of attacks. No one wanted Fi dead, of course, as she had hardly earned herself a sour spot in the minds of the Death Eaters, but if she was about when they came back to get more? They'd not exactly leave her as a standing witness. That's why she had sent Fi back to school AND that's why she hardly fancied the idea of Fi being with them. Keeping her at Aunt Fergie's house or in Galway with her Mum's mother was far, far safer. Or better yet, locking her away in some cave in Egypt. They'd never find her there! Anyway, the short of it was that Blair had just realized that Fi was safer when she wasn't at home. The last thing Erik would have to worry about would be Fi up and leaving again ( ... )

Fi not planning on leaving Hogwarts didn't mean she wasn't planning on leaving him. Which probably wouldn't make sense to anyone else, but Erik thought it to be perfectly logical. She was going to be staying at the castle, sure, but what if she suddenly decided she hated him and his silly adventures? He'd be heartbroken, just as he was when he realised that with Fi and Dustin gone, there was no one to accompany him on such daring quests. They'd both returned now. It was horribly confusing. At least he knew he didn't want her to die. If it was necessary for her survival, he'd drag her off to Finland.

Perhaps the fact that Erik had kissed a girl before made him less aware of the scents than she. Whatever the reason, he was much more focused on breathing and keeping his eyes closed than he was on whatever scents were wafting about from the table. He could easily smell her, of course, but that was to be expected with his nose so close to her neck. He was concentrating on the soft thumping of his heart in his chest, and his hands gently ( ... )

Finland would be brilliant.

If he asked her? Fi would happily declare that she'd be by his side FOREVER. Even if they were old and wrinkly and smelled of moth balls, she'd always be at least his best mate, if not more. Now, Fi's concept of time was quite a mess, so it could have been that she just didn't grasp that forever was a bit beyond 'ages ( ... )

It most certainly would be! It was Erik's favourite place on earth, really. Hogwarts was comforting, wizarding London was a blast, Hogsmeade was cheery, muggle London was familiar, but Finland? Ah, well Finland was home. At least until he struck out on his own. He wasn't all that interested in being a Finnish auror... as in stationed there, that is!

Forever might have been a bit much to decide right now. He just come to terms with the fact that he fancied the girl. Planning a marriage and a life was taking it a bit too far. Lasting friendship however, he could hope for at least that much. They'd made it through some rough times already, it certainly seemed doable ( ... )

Oh, of COURSE they'd be friends if nothing else! Fi simply couldn't imagine not getting to at least hang out with Erik. There was hardly a reason to start thinking that way, but at least friendship until they were old and wrinkly? Brilliant, that. Erik was sure to make one really bloody awesome old man. Fi was likely to be the sort that threw things at children and yelled for them to get off of her begonias.

Her smile was spreading the more she sat there, head bowed. "But ye kissed me," she smartly pointed out, words tripping on giggles. HA, hadn't she thought that same excuse over? "That doesn't work." Honestly, what was he trying to pull? His tricksy little mind games would not foul Fi McFinn - no no, she was a sharp one. Somewhat ( ... )

Erik was hoping he'd be one of those old men that refused to accept that he was old. He'd be attempting to run around on the lawn with grandchildren and... who knows, sneaking in the occasional visit to Hogwarts to sit upon the staircases and reflect on his life. He'd be thrilled to degnome a garden or try and train new aurors, playing pranks on them the entire length of the program.

Oh, brilliant. He couldn't wait for all of that! Well, he could, but only because everything before then sounded exciting as well.

"I'm incredibly aware of that, kiitos," Erik responded with a snort of laughter. Still, she'd tried to make an excuse for herself before anyway, hadn't she? He was simply suggesting that she could have used a classic as opposed to a strange story involving spiders. Either way he would have called her bluff and snogged her again. Surely she didn't mind thatErik didn't really know why she was giggling either. If he'd been in his right mind, he might have worried that he'd done something worth laughing over. Which, of course, ( ... )
