Hargreaves Beckett had done a fair amount of stewing and complaining to himself and in general, being what those of a lesser breed would call "a mardy bum." Life wasn't fair, that he was ( Read more... )

Unlike Hargreaves, Tatiana was already almost back to her normal bouncy self, albeit with a slight fear of Christin Louboutin shoes now. After all, it had been pursuit of a certain pair of those that had led her down to the village in the first place, and look where that had gotten her! Not fun.

...Though on the bright side, she still had a love for Manolo Blahniks. There was nothing wrong with THOSE! They were still right and lovely. In fact, Tatiana was wearing a pair of them right now--shiny, black peep-toe heels, matched to her Hogwarts robes. Hee. She liked to look at them as she walked. It made her run into quite a few pillars and/or walls, but it was a small price to pay.

"EEP!" She collided with a bench and nearly tripped over it. Grabbing at the nearest person to keep herself upright, Tatiana fought to stay balanced.

Said person happened to be her cousin Hargy.

"Hargy," she greeted him, letting go of his shoulder. "You're looking...a bit angry."

At least it was his cousin Tatiana that found him when he let down his guard just a bit, and not simply any random person. That wouldn't have been good, at all. He sighed a bit and yawned politely, only to let out a surprised, shocked sound as someone grabbed onto him.

Gut reaction; payback. He half-expected the FUKD to come after him and denounce him as a traitor and what-not. Perhaps they were getting a head-start before the meeting later that night. Fortunately for him, he didn't think any vengeful future Death Eaters would be attacking him and yelping before they did it, and to his surprise, he saw his cousin Tatiana. His eyes widened a bit as she thought he looked angry and he shook his head, instantly putting on his usual mild, slightly bored expression. "Oh, I'm not. I was just looking up at the tree, actually."

"Are you. . .feeling any better?" Hargreaves asked carefully. "I mean, how've you been? Since. . .Saturday?"

Tati took a seat next to Hargreaves, crossing her legs at the knee, as was her usual mannerism. She heard somewhere that it wasn't proper to cross the legs anywhere else but at the ankles (which was what English princesses were taught to do), but there was a worldly air in Tatiana's preferred way of sitting. Ha at that, world.

"At the tree?" she looked up at it, eyes wide, looking for something eye-catching up there. ...She saw nothing of interest, and blinked at Hargreaves curiously. "Are you positively sure? Since when did you have a fondness for nature?"

Feeling any better? What about--oh, right. It took her a moment to register the question. Slowly she formed some sort of semi-coherent response (it took effort to think and speak simultaneously, it did!): "A bit different. ...I'm a bit afraid of shoes now, can you imagine?" She tapped her feet together. "I won't be able to wear Louboutins again for the rest of my life. Thank Merlin for Blahniks ( ... )

((OOC: Oy! Sorry for taking so long! My "muse" was gone after that scare :P But it's all good now! All back on track and all!))

Hargreaves smiled and replied, "I thought I saw a grindylow in it. And wondered what in the world a grindylow was doing out of the lake and up in an oak. It was just some leaves. Did have me very curious, though."

Not true. Hey, he needed practice at lying, anyways!

He looked at his cousin in an oddly innocent manner, waiting for her answer. He found himself relieved when all she could speak of were shoes, and laughed nearly silently. "Loo. . .blah. . .I have no idea what you're talking about, Tatiana. Remember? I stick to Vanity Fair, not the fashion magazines. Well. . .is Vanity Fair a fashion. . ." He rolled his eyes and laughed again, "Oh bother, never mind. As long as you're all right and all. There are worse things than being afraid of shoes ( ... )
