Rae had indeed received his owl and was just finishing up an owl to Francis about the Hogsmeade attacks. While she didn't want to dwell on it she wanted to know more information and he was always the most reliable source in her opinion. But as she sent it off, she headed out of her dorm room, pondering what Adam would want to talk with her about.

Perhaps he had some information? Or a question more likely. Walking up to him she smiled before sitting down across from him, raising an eyebrow over towards him. "Hello Adam. You wanted to ask me something?"

"Good, then make sure to do so and if she doesn't accept your apology after that?" Rae had to pause for a moment then. That would be a tricky situation, but she wouldn't have to deal with it. Poor Adam...she supposed. "Just get in her face and demand an apology. There's only so much you can take after all."

So maybe it was a bit contradictory but if she wasn't going to forgive and Adam wanted that connection friendship? Well he would have to work for it just like everyone else did. Maybe even having to earn her trust again.

"Alright," he nodded. What Rae had said made sense. If Mae wasn't prepared to forgive him even after another apologise, he would just have to make her forgive him. He wasn't going to let her write him off or something.

Adam was certainly prepared to work for it. He liked Mae too much to just forget they were ever friends.

Rae gave a decisive nod of her head and the subject was out of her head. Better not dwell on it because it clearly wasn't worth her time. Besides they could be talking about more important things.

"How did you spend your weekend?" She asked, relaxing and sending a semi friendly smile. Maybe she might even get some gossiping in. Oh how wonderful would that be!

Adam took the nod of Rae's head to mean that that particular conversation was over, and that a change of subject was needed. Something Rae seemed to have taken care of.

"Well," he replied, scratching his head a little bit. "I spent Saturday in my dorm room, hiding from Mae. She was still pretty mad then. But on Sunday I hung out in here and stuff...not really doing anything, just hanging around. How did you spend yours?" He asked the question, though he already knew that her answer would be a lot more interesting than his.

Rae smiled and nodded along, "Oh I went to Hogsmeade early Saturday and then came back to work on some homework. Missed all of the ruckus." True if she had actually remembered that something was going to happen she would have stayed, but at the time she had completely forgotten. It's not as if anything happened to her anyways so why should she be bothered?

"But overall very relaxing," she gave a shrug, one of her hands finding her quill and starting to twirl it absentmindedly.

"I wish I could go to Hogsmeade," Adam said immediately. "Why do you need to be in the third year before you can go?" he asked. Surely Rae would know the answer to that question. It just seemed silly to him. "What exactly happened? I've only heard bits of it," he said, referring to the ruckus that she'd mentioned.

"That's good," he nodded, not sure what else to say about it.

"Probably because they want some control over who goes," Rae said with a wave of her hand, yes the one with the wand. It made the point clearer in her opinion, besides it added a nice flourish. "Or they don't want some of the more hyperactive younger students running through the stores unsupervised. At least until they are at least a little more mature."

She wasn't saying anything against Adam, it was just a fact of life now. She had seem some of those Gryffindors and other first years, and personally? If she owned a store, she wouldn't allow them to come in without leashes. Who knows what they would break.

"Oh, I didn't think of that," he said, mentally calling himself an idiot. It seemed rather an obvious reason now that Rae had said it. "I suppose it makes sense, but it's not really fair to stop all the younger kids going just because of a few that like to cause trouble."

He hadn't taken offence at Rae's answer, because he could honestly see the sense in it. He knew that there were quite a few of the younger Gryffindors that liked to play pranks and cause trouble etc. He was annoyed that they'd spoilt it for the rest of them though. He now had another year to wait before he could go to the village.

"Precautions. It's the same when we go home for the summer and we aren't allowed to do magic. You never know who is going to be stupid and foolish and actually cause damage," Rae said with a slight edge. Oh yes she hated that one aspect of school, and when she was younger she would have detested the Hogsmeade rule. Fortunately she was too focused on her studies and creating respectable connections and allies to care about it.

In retrospect it just made the weekends more exciting to go to, so it was good to do such. And by their second year it should be easy to figure out who were the trouble makers, but they had to be fair.

"No, I suppose that's true," Adam admitted. "I bet it would be a Gryffindor though," he added, thinking of how stupid a lot of them seemed. Perhaps he should stop thinking about how he didn't like the Hogsmeade rule and turn his attention to more worthwhile things.

He decided he would just look forward to being able to go in his third year and hope that it lived up to expectations.

"A reasonable assumption," Rae said, letting a more relaxed smirk grace her face. It wasn't worth letting the idiocy of other houses get to her. It just led to unneeded tension that already was consuming her.

And she heartily agreeded that he should turn his attention to more worthwhile things. What those worthwhile things were anyone's guess, but anything that involved some Gryffindor wasn't worth their time.

"I thought so," Adam nodded, pleased that Rae agreed with him. Of course, it was rather a given that she would considering the rivalry between the two houses.

No, anything that involved the Gryffindors definitley wasn't worth their time. But he was sure they could find something that didn't involve them.
