Riley, on the other hand, rarely looked forward to seeing other people. Normally she talked to Sam, Adriana and occasionally James. She preferred to read or something else. However, for some reason unknown even to her, she was feeling incredibly sociable lately. And she wasn't entirely sure if it was a good thing or not. More friends would be fun, but it also meant that FUKD would be more likely to use her as a spy. And Riley wasn't a fan of that idea.

ANYWAY, that was why she'd come down to dinner at a normal time. Not ridiculously early or late like she usually did to avoid the huge crowd. She actually talked with people at dinner and walked out of the Great Hall without the intention of running off and hiding.

It was then that she saw Troy. Friend of Sam's, kind bloke, great kisser. She smiled and walked over to him. "Well, someone's in a good mood today," she said kindly. "Hello Troy, how are you?"

Troy was just about to turn around to walk up the stairs when he saw a friendly and downright cute face. Riley, Slytherin, Sam's cousin, giver of a rather lovely kiss a while back. He sort of missed that, when he thought back to it. He grinned back and called out, "Miss McGranahan, I'm always in a good mood. It just gets better when I'm graced by your presence."

Yes. He was corny. Whatever. He didn't care.

He jogged a bit over to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders, having to hunch over to do so. "I am rather bloody brill, lately. But, more importantly, I'm interested in what you've been up to. Haven't seen you for a while, of course."

"You are a shameless flatterer, Troy. Just in case you didn't know already," Riley replied with a laugh. And it didn't really bother her either. It was nice to receive compliments every once in a while, even if you didn't believe they were true.

Poor self image? Never. Riley's was accurate. She knew she was pretty. She also knew she was incredibly awkward and not the best of company. She accepted this and moved on. No self loathing for her.

She craned her neck up to look at him. The boy was tall. Much taller than her. Then again, that didn't take much at all. "That's great to hear. Though I haven't been up to much. I'm a very boring person in all honesty."

"Shameless? Why should I be ashamed of complimenting someone? Unless I'm lying. And I most definetely am not," Troy grinned at her and tilted her head to the side charmingly. Oh yes, he pulled out all the stops.

Troy was a bloke who liked all kinds of girls, he just had a particular fondness for awkward, shy, genuinely cute ones. Ones who didn't realize just how wonderful they were. Hence his current huge, mad crush on Lolita. Or that old crush on that one Gryffindor girl.

"I'm sure anything you do will have to be interesting. Humour me," he chuckled. "Or make it up. Or tell me how wonderful it is to sit in the library all day studying for your NEWTs."
