This was one of the rare times Ellie was eating without her twin, but she'd spent a good bit of Sunday in the library while Emma was off, probably chasing after some boy or something. So she was eating alone tonight.

She watched Delilah looking decidedly uncomfortable for a moment. Wow, even Ellie wasn't quite this bad. She usually kept her reading to more comfortable spots.

"You know, there are much more comfortable spots in the common room for that," she told her with a grin when the girl finally put the book down.

Delilah let out a gasp of shock. "Well hello there." She closed the book, deciding to try eating. She'd be much more successful at devouring a delicious meal than reading a very dull book. Besides, it was dinner time and there wasn't any point in being in the Great Hall at dinner time if you weren't going to eat. Delilah took a bite from a very juicy-looking apple.

"Oh, I could go sit in there and read but I figured if I sit here, then if I get hungry it is much easier and less time consuming to fill my nutritional needs," she said, taking another bite from the apple.

Ellie laughed. "Less time consuming, but not nearly as comfortable," she pointed out with a shrug. That sounded kind of lazy to her, but she supposed to each her own.

"What are you reading anyway?" she asked, picking up a dinner roll and breaking out a piece, popping it into her mouth. "Anything good?" Granted, most books would fit that description for Ellie, but she was kind of a nerd.

"We all make sacrifices, yes?" she said shrugging and taking another bite of that apple. Delilah would rather hang out at the table anyways. It could provide for very excellent conversation about apples or even..

well, Ellie certainly seemed to know what Delilah was thinking. She'd love to talk about her book. "I'm reading 1984 by George Orwell. You know it?" she asked, stroking the cover. It was good but so terribly...dull to read. The message overall was excellent but it was taking her forever to get through.
