Turning away from her friends, she could clearly see that they were bothing this intimidating older year. If he had a problem though, why didn't he move then?

So having the state of mind that James was like Jeremy, Mae excused herself from the conversation and slid down on the bench towards him until she was directly in front of him. "Were we bothering you," she politely asked, showing no emotion on her face until he gave her an answer.

Of course Mae wasn't entirely mad at him, but honestly? Was he that stupid that he couldn't just go over and say something but instead give them looks? 'Clearly some of the older years needed an attitude adjustment,' Mae thought to herself.

What the...? "Excuse you?" He stared over the younger girl, trying to place her. Did he know her? If not, why was she speaking to him? James didn't see any logic behind this seemingly 'curteous' move made by the kid. It's a pity she'd associated him with someone nicer, because James really wasn't prepared to put up an act. Not for someone this obnoxious.

He straightened a little on the bench, and folded his arms across his chest. "You are bothering me," James replied, trying to keep eye contact with the kid. Freak her out and all that fun stuff. The 6th year decided food wasn't going to be the highlight of this meal, not today anyway.

Ignoring the first comment, Mae still kept her face empty from any type of expression and just continued to stare at James unamused. Really, if he thought that he was going to try and intimidate Mae he had another thing coming. She'd already gotten over her 'fear' of older students and this twit wasn't going to scare her back into it.

"Why didn't you say anything than?" Amabel asked trying to keep calm still but hinting a slight annoyance in her voice. If Mae and her friends were really annoying him why didn't he say anything? He really was dumb in Mae's opinion.

She may not think as much, but James was certainly going to try. Though, the blank staring was slightly unnerving. Had someone hit her with too strong a blasting curse already? James thought she looked like she was in a body bind of the face. Really, playing the expressionless game with him? Smirk ( ... )
