All those books and general advice on keeping a good mood afloat had told one to "accentuate the positive." He'd done a good job so far, but was still on the road to recovery. Beginning to take Lolita's advice of fueling that ego a bit more, Troy Frogley found himself walking over to the Trophy Room. Looking at old House Cups and trophies would make him feel better, right? Seeing his name in the cupboard, knowing that perhaps even hundreds of years later, someone would read that name?

So maybe those future people would primarily ask themselves, 'Frogley?! What kind of silly name is FROGLEY?!' This, of course, did NOT cross Troy's mind at the moment.

Instead, he had a mild smile on his face as he walked in, only to have that turn the slightest, faintest bit sour as he noticed Merlin Flanagan in the same room as well. He gulped, fearing what may come next, thinking Well, so much for forgetting about that row. "Hey, Merlin," he said quietly, shooting a nod over to the bloke a bit awkwardly.

Merlin didn't think Frogley was such a silly name, but then again... his name was bloody MERLIN for excalibur's sake! If anyone knew what it was like to have a silly name, it was M. P. Flanagan!

If Troy was worried about what Merlin would think of him, he didn't know Merry well at all. Bloody hell, Merry had been Ben's best mate since the day they'd walked through the doors of the castle. It was a trial, of course, since the bloke didn't like to be friendly with anyone. Prefered the silent, broody, 'I'm so tough I'll kill you if you look at me the wrong way' act. Which, was humorous, as then he'd turn right around and read books while listening to MOTOWN, of all things!

The point was that Merry knew that Ben was not only so rational, and he enjoyed a good fight. If someone had given him a reason for one? He was going to take that chance. Troy was Merry's friend to, and he was just as hopeful that he was all right as he was for Ben ( ... )

Well, Merlin must have had a point there. If only Troy knew the truth. He was still in that 'Why'd he fight ME?' questioning phase, after all. People just didn't go fight people, or so Troy thought. They had to have a reason. And Ben made it clear he wasn't fighting for this girl, who clearly wasn't his girl, so. . .why'd he fight him? It wasn't even the bird that bugged him, it was the bloody brawl, really. In general. Wondering why it even happened.

Yeah. Confusion. All around.

Troy walked a bit closer, shrugging and smiling, "I've been. . .around, really. Trying to fend off gossip and dramatics and such. Oh, and waiting for my tower to be all patched up or summat. But what about you? Good Val's Day week?" he asked.

Merlin would never go fighting some random bloke just for the hell of it, but that was his personality. Ben Connelly was not quite so easy to understand. Without even talking to him about, Merry had a feeling that Troy had done absolutely nothing wrong. It was extremely unfortunate his two friends had to get into such a ridiculous row, especially when it only managed to spark absurd rumours and make everyone depressed.

"Yer bleedin' tower, aye! I almost forgot 'bout tha', mate! Sorry t'hear tha', 's jus' not yer... month, is it?" Merry stated with a sympathetic smile. Honestly, Merlin had been subject to those types of weeks before. Always a downer, but they passed. He expected Troy to be his usual self... erm... at least before the end of term! Hopefully.

"Me? I've been doin' jus' fine. Spendin' time wit Sammy an' whatnot, gettin' ready fer... erm, a bit o'change o'me own," Merry answered him, shoving his hands in his pockets and grinning.
