For once in his life, even Troy Frogley had to admit that it was too cold for ice cream. And for that, he was nearly in grief. It was far below freezing outside, and it nearly felt so in the halls. He ( Read more... )

Jackie barely ate anything; she simply pushed her food from the left side to the right side of her plate and sometimes in counterclock circles just to look like she was eating, but she really wasn't. She hadn't fully regained her appetite, but still tried and trying was what counted right? She really didn't need to hear her father or her brother's words echoing in her head, telling her to eat and stay strong.

So, after gulping down a glass of juice, half of a potato, and a couple spoonfuls of vegetables, she excused herself from the Gryffindor table and walked out of the Great Hall. Just as she pushed the doors open and started on her way back to the dorms, she bumped into Troy and took a few steps back and to the side.

"Hey, Troy. Sorry, I wasn't paying attention," she apologized with a half-smile and started to walk around him.

Absentmindedly he realized he had stopped right outside the doors. Well, he did have a tendency to do this sort of thing, so he wasn't surprised that someone bumped into him. "Oy I'm sorry," he turned around and his face and tone completely changed at seeing Jackie.

His face seemed to light up, "Jackie! Where're you off to so soon?!" he tried to stop her, asking in a cheery tone.

"Um... no where really. I guess the dorms..." Jackie gave a half-smile as she answered honestly. She really didn't have anything planned, although she could work on homework but it wasn't anything that was pressing.

"How's everything?" she asked. "I haven't seen you in a while... have much luck with your birthday jumper?" Her smile lightened as she remembered its flashy words and suggestive comment. That seemed like it had happened ages ago.

"Blimey, Jackie, it's FAR too early to go 'eading off to the dorms just yet!" Troy said with a beaming grin. "Especially since I 'aven't seen you in forever!" He rolled up his sleeves a bit, weird habit of his, as he spoke. His mannerisms when he was happy always made him seem like he was getting ready for a rugby game. He got jumpy and happy, kind of shuffling his feet a bit, even though he stood in one spot.

"Ah, the usual. Though no footie or Quidditch, I'm 'fraid. Too cold out, you know," he laughed, even harder when she brought up the jumper. "I've decided to take a new approach in bird-hunting. The jumper lured the WRONG ones. I'll spare you the gory details. . ." He quickly jumped to something more important.

"Reckon we take a wee bit of a stroll and you tell me how you've been? I've missed our potions sessions, I have," he smirked. "Don't tell me you've given up on the hobby, Jackie!"
