Matches were beginning. That was the truth of things. Also the truth was that she hadn't been practicing as much as she should've. Sure she went that time with Jory, but that wasn't really practice, after all. She had done more falling on the ground than flying. It had been fun, but was that what quidditch was suppose to be? Was it just suppose to be a bunch of fun? That's how she thought about it, but there were so many competitive people around she couldn't say to anyone that she thought it was just a game and was only made to have fun. Her favorite team might have been notorious for being violent, but she never thought a game should get that serious

Phillip was contentedly flying about and going over all the maneuvers in his mind. He did a few tuck and rolls and spun about, pulling any number of fancy tricks just for the sake of doing them. There was nothing quite like being on a broom. Except perhaps being on a broom in the middle of a really good match. And with any luck, that's where he'd be the very next day.
Lost a bit in his thoughts, he paused as he was certain he'd just he heard his name faintly on the wind. He pulled up on his broom and came to a stop to glance around and down at the ground. He quickly spotted a figure on the other end of the field and flew towards it, trying to make out who exactly it was. He'd not told any of his teammates to meet him out here; this had all been on the spur of the moment so he'd not really told anyone he was here

Watching Phil do all of his fancy moves, Saffron couldn't help but laugh. Of course, it was not at him - it was more directed towards how brilliant and dedicated he was and how horrible and casual she was. This was quite possibly why she wasn't very good, she didn't take quidditch seriously enough. Shrugging her shoulders at the thought, she lowed herself so her feet dangled just above the ground, in case she stopped paying attention and she ended up flat on her back on the ground once again. After all, you don't break your leg playing quidditch and not be careful about it afterwards.
Her eyes followed him, a small, proud smile playing about her lips. For some reason, seeing any of her mates, especially one she felt so fond of, do anything they were good at made her swell with pride. Even if it wasn't something she could be proud of personally, she felt proud for them. Though, under some scrutiny, she would've noticed that Phil didn't need to be any more proud of himself

Phillip grinned at the Ravenclaw; it struck him a little odd at how many birds he was mates with, and even more so how many of them happened to be Eagles. But Saffron was an example of exactly why. They were just all-around lovely to have around; not that he'd admit it to any of them out-right, of course, but he could admit it to himself, at least
