With the snow and sleet that had been falling all day, it made it difficult for anyone to go walking along the school grounds to get fresh air; difficult to get away from the musty, stuffy castle. Fortunately, Audrey wasn't one who took to walking outside very often. Not at school, that is. The grounds were too provincial for her liking, to tell the truth. It might have looked nice and pretty to some, but the landscape was far too simple for her grand taste. Besides, she had never been one for nature and mother earth. Too dirty.
No. She didn't like being a part of the scenery. But she did, however, enjoy painting it!! For when she painted the school grounds, she didn't actually have to stick to the rules and paint it plant for plant, tree for tree... she had a tendency to stretch things a little, pulling from her imagination and creativity. Whenever she painted, the picture was bound to be lavish and extravagant.
With the flourish of white snow atop the trees, the glistening flakes falling from the sky, the small little ripples in the lake; it made for a lovely painting.
Audrey knew plenty of 'hot spots' in the castle, places she would go to look out on the courtyard and grounds in order to do her painting. This time she had decided on setting canvas on the fourth floor by the library -- the small little alcove with the wide, open window space was perfect for a night filled with snow.
It was starting to get dark outside by this time, though. Audrey wouldn't be able to see much in a little while, but that wasn't the point to her adventure. She had memorized most of the landscape when she was younger, and since she tended to exaggerate on her paintings, it didn't matter if she could see outside or not. Mostly she ventured to the spot for the atmosphere. The pleasant quiet. The solitude.
The Slytherin girl was still yawning every now and then, her eyes droopy from lack of sleep, but once her fingers grabbed ahold of a paint brush, her eyes locking on the canvas, she was revitalized -- her senses coming alive as she beheld her newly acquired task.
