The only reason she was passing Potions was Snape's great love of homework. She might not have the patience or focus to mix tempermental ingredients in complex, exacting terms, but all it took to write an essay was finding the information in the books, copying it in bullet format to a bit of parchment, then padding it with four-syllabel words until it filled the required three feet. It was almost restful, or would have been if she had actually been able to work at a table. Instead, she was curled up in one of the massive, green velvet, overstuffed armchairs, looking very small indeed against the high back and massive rolled arms. The small fire in the grate was doing very little against the ever-present dungeon chill, so Gabriella was in her pajamas, black sweatpants and a black thermal with a white skull and crossbones across the chest. She had a deep violet fleece throw wrapped around her shoulders, and her tiny gray cat was curled up on the back of the chair. The floor around her was covered in books and bits of parchment, with two of the massive tomes covering her lap and more bits of parchment scattered across them. There was a smudge of ink on her cheek from when she had tucked her quill behind her ear to look something up, and her face was drawn in intense concentration, making her look almost angry. She muttered under her breath as she covered sheets of parchment with neat, somewhat loopy handwriting.
