"I feel terrible for intruding," spoke up a voice from behind Jeannie, "But I couldn't help but noticing that you were drawing."

Cordelia herself was an artist and spent the better part of her free time either sketching or drawing. In fact, she was setting out to clear her mind via the arts when she saw the girl strugging with whatever it was that she was attempting to do. Not wanting to be rude or intrusive, she motioned towards the young girl's sketchpad, wanting permission before she'd crane her neck to see.

"Mind if I take a look?"

Just a bit startled, Jeannie held out her artwork. "It's not very good," she murmured, a bit nervous. "The colors won't work right."

She didn't know the other girl by sight, but she was obviously in one of the older years.

"I haven't drawn in a while," said Jeannie, attempting to make an excuse just in case it was that bad. She twirled her hair around with her free hand, and hoped that she didn't look too pathetic or anxious.

Oh, the poor thing looked nervous!! Cordelia gingerly took the picture from her and held it out at arms length, taking a good look at it. She paused, then smiled as she glanced down to the girl.

"It's quite good, actually, considering your age and all. You're a firstie, yeah? This is better than.. well, anything I did when I was your age."

Really, the picture needed some help, and even she would admit that. The colours were far too harsh in some areas, and overly blended in others. And for some reason, well.. was the lake green? But Cordelia was the type to find the positive spin on everything, so she did. While the girl was no Da Vinci, she was fairly good for an 11 year old!

Smiling, she kneeled down next to the girl and handed the picture back. "You know, if you keep working at it, you could really capture this talent you've got and be quite the artist! What's your name, if you don't mind me asking?"

Jeannie relaxed some when she found her art wasn't hated, and couldn't help but stand a little straighter after hearing the praise.

Taking her sketchpad back, she smiled back, feeling a bit more open and more like her normal self. "I had a teacher for a long time, but I didn't like her." Whoops. Hopefully this girl wasn't related to or knew her old art teacher.

"My name's Jean, but I go by Jeannie." Hesitating for a moment, she asked; "What's yours?"
