Like I said I've only seen Eddie in Jupiter Ascending so I'll have to wait and see. I didn't really like him in Jupiter Ascending but I don't think that was his best role... Any recommendations on something that I can watch with him that might be better?

I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to this movie. The book is interesting but I'm not sure that I'm really interested in a movie about Newt Scamander. There were so many fun directions she could've gone with other characters and I'm not sure that Newt will hold my interest. I'm not a big creatures/monsters/beasts person though so... I'm sure I'll be there opening night to see it anyway.

YEAH I WOULDN'T JUDGE EDDIE ON JUPITER ASCENDING. HE'S PRETTY AMAZING IN THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING AND IF YOU PREFER JUST HOTNESS AND MAYBE SOME SINGING TRY LES MISERABLES? THATS ALL I'VE SEEN HIM IN.

WHO KNOWS HOW THE MOVIE WILL BE. I'LL BE EXCITED REGARDLESS AND SOAK UP EVERY LITTLE BIT OF HP I CAN GET. WHO KNOWS? IT MAY SPARK SOME NEW INTEREST IN THE HIH COMMUNITY? ;)

The Theory of Everything is what he won an Oscar for isn't it? I do kind of want to watch that movie although I admit that I will have to be in the mood for it. And Les Mis is on my list to watch. I forgot he was in that!

I WOULD LOVE IF IT SPARKED NEW INTEREST IN THE FANDOM AND HIH. <3

Eddie Redmayne was Marius in the most recent Les Miserables film, the musical one. It was okay, from what I remember. I reckon he looks idealistic and wistful enough to play Marius.

I'm kind of "meh" about the Newt Scamander movie also. It sounds interesting, but not so interesting I'm flailing in anticipation.

Then again, I would much rather see JKR write a story that she wants to tell instead of pander to the demands of the fandom. For example, a Marauders film would be so kitschy, and there would be so many explosive opinions (tumblr would be a veritable warzone) that it might not even be enjoyable. Fantastic Beasts seems like a simple and interesting story that'll please most fans.

As long as he doesn't use the Jupiter Ascending voice, I am open to seeing what happens. I know he also was Stephen Hawking, but I haven't seen that movie, either, so I only have his Oscar speech to go on, as a sense of who he is.

I enjoy the hell out of those two books, though, so I'm looking forward to it!

Haha! His voice was what really gets me that movie. And his lips. I swear, they're very distracting and not in such a good way.

I want to watch that movie. I feel like I heard a lot about his speech but I don't remember it.

I'm hoping that they do have some fun beasts in it! Although, I admit that because of the doodles and stuff in the books I'm thinking something almost cartoon-ish where they stop the film and draw little notes about the creatures on the screen. I have a feeling they won't go in that direction. xD

That is true. He does look boyish and I think that could translate well into an adventurer. Thinking of that, I hope that we see him being all young and boyish. I keep picturing the movie kind of darker, the way that Deathly Hallows was, hunting in dark forests but I'd love to see something happier.

I agree that there is a lot left out of the movies. I hope that with this being original then there won't be that "canon knowledge" element and so it'll be a brand new story. I would like to learn about the creatures but at the same time, I don't know how interesting that it'll really be able to be. Hopefully with J.K. writing the screenplay it'll work out.

When I heard for the first time that they were going to make this movie, I was disappointed that it wasn't a new novel written by J.K about the wizarding world but then... Like 5 minutes later I was really excited. I like that it's a story that's not related to Harry and Voldemort and it will be an amazing oportunity to see how the wizarding world works outside Hogwarts. He's from hufflepuff, right? his house won't probably be mentioned, a pity because it would be a great example of a brave hufflepuff (I'm sure he'll have to face a lot of adventures).

I really hope this doesnt become a story about outwitting monster and we get more info about his magic world we love.

Yes, he was Hufflepuff! I would love if we saw a bit more representation from the other houses although I'm sure that you're right that there won't be much mention of it.

I really hope that they have a good mix, I think. I don't want it to be all about outwitting a monster but I also don't want it to just be him exploring and finding new things. I'd like some overlying plot but I'm also worried that there'll be too much of a plot that won't hold interest.

(Can we get a Starkid Hufflepuff reference about finding? ;) I doubt it but that would make my life.)

This is such a delight! Eddie Redmayne is such a little nugget, and he was VERY good in The Theory of Everything.

I'll definitely have to watch that! I've seen some little clips and it looks like he's amazing in it.
