This is one of the questions in our intro post questionnaire so I'm just going to copy/paste my explanation from there. I think it fits what you've said about Ravenclaw usernames in this post.

"This is a long, possibly boring story. I was at work cleaning the kitten enclosure (which included a partition). When I'm doing something repetitive or cleaning, my mind will wander and on this day I was thinking about how much I liked the word "partition." For me, there's something satisfying about the way it looks and the motion of writing it. This train of thought lead to me thinking about the somewhat superficial boundaries we place between parts of our lives. Our home lives, our work lives, our social lives, and, for me, my online life. I keep parts of my life separate but they're all a part of me and good or bad things in one area of life can change how I act in another area of my life. Having that as my username is kind of a reminder to take care of my whole self, to be more open about some things or more closed about others depending ( ... )

I think the very fact that Ravenclaw intro post includes this is telling.

I like the thought you put into it. It has a lot of layers.

I would have thought your username was a reference to Beyonce, tbh. I like your reasoning much better! =)

Haha, yeah I've had it for way longer than the Beyonce song. Though the song means that I get hassled all the time to give up my old tumblr url, partition.

I have no idea my house.... >_>

Nor where my username came from. None. Whatsoever. Especially not 4 times over. Or 5, if we count that one MBTI character chart....

Yep, a derivation of my real name. My friends and cousins call me from time to time Carola, but my real name is Carolina and the "d" is the first letter or my surname. Sometimes I use carola_dl, The L is the first letter of my second surname.

So you got me there with the forthright self-identification of Gryffindor!

It's true. :D

I love us, but we can take ourselves far too seriously...especially when we're putting on a public face. I'm very guilty of this.
