Hello Allison,
Your application is now up and subject to questions from our judges. It would be great if you could answer the questions until the 4th of February, or earlier if that's possible. The judges vote when you have answered all the questions.
Thank you!

1. Pick someone from each of the four houses and tell me 1. which traits or behaviour you dislike about them. 2. if there are any similarities between the characters and you.

2. I have a hard time believing no one, save for one person, in Hufflepuff shares the same interests as you. Do you think this will change if resorted to another house? You can find friends from all different houses in the main community.

3. Would you still remain active if you were resorted into Hufflepuff? Answer truthfully.

Hi Allison! :D For some people, it's hard coming up with questions to ask them, but for you, I found it pretty easy. ^_^

1.) I noticed that you mentioned a passion for flute and instrumental music in your erised elaboration; I'm assuming that means you play? Could you explain exactly how you feel about music-making? Don't be afraid to start at the very beginning- in fact, I encourage it!

2.) Explain a time when you made a choice and then later regretted it. After that, explain a time when you made a risky or hard decision that ended up paying off in the long run.

1. My family has always played music. My parents are both singers and pianists; my mother also plays french horn and flute, and my father plays bass. I've been brought up around music of all forms, from gospel to classical to popular. My mother always told me stories about when she was in band in high school and how much she loved it, so from the time I was a little girl I always wanted to be in a band. I started playing the violin in fourth grade, and the flute in 6th grade. As the years went on I progressed very well on both, but more so on flute than violin. God blessed me greatly, and in my junior year of high school I became principle flute of the All-State Band. I was also principle flute of the All-County Band and the WVU Honour Band, and by the grace of God I remained principle of the All-State and WVU Honour Bands through my senior year. These experiences with the various guest conductors gave me many many wonderful new insights on music in general, and in particular how I go about making music. Music is a way of life for me ( ... )

1. Who would your best friend be in each of the four houses and why?

2. Who would you not get along with in each of the four houses and why?

3. Please tell me about what you have participated in at HiH, and if you can, specifically something at The Puff House; what did you like about it and what you didn't.

4. What house do you think you belong in and why?

Thank you.

1. Gryffindor: I think that Hermione and I would be pretty tight. We share many similar interests. The scary thing is, I always understand her perfectly when she tries to explain emotional things to Harry and Ron (for example, when Harry was confused about how Cho was feeling in OOTP). Our thought processes are very similar.

Hufflepuff: Ernie Mcmillan seems like he would usually be pretty fun to be around, despite what I told caketime about being a little annoyed with him at times. But even the best of friends bother each other sometimes, right? Harry and Ron are a prime example ( ... )

Sorry if these questions are difficult or harsh, but they're all relevant, I swear. :)

1. If you, for whatever reason, had to choose between your successful career and your ideal family, which would you pick and why?

2. What appeals to you most about your ideal career? The fame, money, reverence, skill/accomplishment, or something else?

3. If you could (or had to) switch lives with someone in the HP canon, who would you choose to be (and why)?

4. Briefly, could you explain why faith is more important than knowledge?

5. Could you give some examples of your resourcefulness?

Thanks!

1. I would choose my family, hands down. I love music and music will always be a part of my life, no matter what, but I want my own family so much. I'm about to turn 19, but already so many of my friends are married, engaged, pregnant even. . . I feel so alone and left out, like the last kid to be picked for the dodge ball team in gym class. My boyfriend of three years and I broke up a couple months ago, right when I needed him most, and I've felt so very lonely ever since. I want to be a good mother and a good wife, I want to take care of my husband and my children for the rest of my life. I want that more than anything ( ... )

1b. I would choose the stable career. Traveling is something I enjoy, but I wouldn't want to do it all the time because it would loose its appeal to me. I really want a nice, stable, at least half-way normal family life. I would play in a symphony or two, maybe teach at the local university if I get the chance, and have a private studio, but even then I should be able to have plenty of time for my family. Honestly, a music career is not as glamorous as it's often made out to be. It's a lot of hard work and near-sleepless nights, but I still wouldn't trade it for anything. Usually ( ... )
