'Tis?

Okay, open question for everyone to answer. This has a real world implication though.

Is it better to serve in heaven or rule in hell?

My vote goes for service in heaven... on the not-necessarily-accurate assumption that Heaven is an orderly place and Hell is not. I'd rather be a servant in an efficient system than a ruler of uncontrolled chaos.

Your assessment is both astute and timely. I record one vote for service.

I would throw my money in with serving in Heaven. At least with that option you get some level of stability, and there's a lot to be said for that...

In this case (and metaphorically, too) neither heaven nor hell are going anywhere anytime soon. I mean, as far as organizations go they're both pretty much entrenched and expecting steady growth in the future ;)

I think I'd prefer to freelance and start my own universe.

Tempting....but no.

There is no evil in service, just because it is service... if it is willingly given and heartfelt. I would serve in Heaven, and be joyful of it.

Serving I can do. In fact, resisting the urge to serve whenever possible is a bit of a problem.

I record one vote for heaven.

Ah, for those with a serving spirit, the responsibility--and the trick--is to learn how to answer the question: Who is worth serving? Who is it safe to serve?

Never easy questions, and twice hard in our culture.

Sounds good to me and I approve of your reasoning.

I record one vote for heaven.
