Powerful. Simple yet moving prose, which was perfect for this story. My favourite parts: Sometimes it felt like Rodney would let him do anything. (great choice for the summary) and John didn't want this much control over Rodney. He didn't want this silent submission: permission to take, and hurt, and destroy, because sometimes John really did want to hurt Rodney. He wanted to hit him, and bite him, and bruise him, and make him open his eyes and actually look at him. He wanted Rodney to just say something, even if it was to tell him to stop. Especially if it was to tell him to stop.

I also loved how you didn't have it end on a happy note. Let's deal with the angst. I was so drawn in by this story that I plan to rec it on my lj :).

To be honest, I wasn't really sure about this story. My muse handed me a plotline so vast, with characters so damaged, that I really don't think I could write it, without breaking my own heart in the process. So I've just been writing a piece here, and a piece there, and I didn't know if this one could stand on its own. I'm glad it came across, even without the extra details.

Very well written add-on. I can _hear_ the quiet that is the absence of McKay's talking. Such obvious silence, hushed but not really depressive. For me (who is not caught in your mind's dark universe around this) there seems to be a chance that they will find a way to talk, a chance for a happier ending. Would be interesting to take a look into Mckay's mind.
