Wow! You should totally audition if you can. It's a dream of mine too, but I think I'm a little too old for the show now.

Lol I figured a fellow ex-Center Stage-r would get it. I'm probably too old now too at 26 - how old was Lea when she returned to the show? About 25? I think she ran for 6 months after which she said she was DEFINITELY too old. Of course if you originated the role when you were 17/18 it might feel that way!

Lea was 28ish when she made her Bway return in '99. I'm pushing 30 now!! Unless they cast a 33-35 year old Chris, I'm way, way over the hill.

I don't think that's weird. Since I finished my show, I've realised just how much music theatre actually means to me. If you've found something you want to do, then do it!

Musical Theatre...it really is a whole other way of life isn't it? Much like being a chorister! :)

I'm outraged! Bloody outraged! You said you were going to leave so leave, damn you! I didn't want you around anyway.

Is that better?

Not actually related to Miss Saigon, but I just thought of it reading this, so: how is the financial crisis and subsequent recession affecting your industry? Differences between Aus & UK? If you go over in 9 months, is it likely to be better or worse than going over now?

And you're not weird. You're a muso, and we do strange things for our love :o)

It's actually one of the other things giving me pause. Financial markets are shaky globally. London is still a huge financial centre, so there will still be employment prospects, but I have the major disadvantage in not having had UK work experience, and I think pre-Christmas may be a tricky time of year. I've been told that I would have needed to arrive by October to be considered for audit work (where I've had experience), and while I'm keen on picking up non audit work, lack of non audit experience is also going to make things tough.

As for whether things will be easier in 9 months? It's really hard to say. If the world slides into a huge recession, things will be crap everywhere, but better in Oz where I can always knock back on the door of Deloitte.

But I don't know enough about specific workings of either market to say for sure!
