A restaurant review, and a definition of Evil - stealing Lindt Birthday cake!

Feb 24, 2009 00:43

On Friday night I was out for dinner in Glebe for a friend's birthday. We ate at Baja Cantina, a Californian Mexican place that I'd always wanted to try.

Things started out just fine. Evelyn and her hubby brought lots of wine, including two bottles of bubbly and the biggest bottle of white I've ever seen. We started off with some appertisers - ( Read more... )

I often wonder what a good mexican restaurant would be like. We suffer the same problem here in Perth, they are all a bit mediocre.

*insert tale of woeful service here*

Have you ever been to Pancho's in Vic Park? They do pretty darn acceptable Mexican. :)

Aaah, Pancho's Mexican Villa - from many nights with my crazy cousin and friends.

It's not bad, but is it authentic? (tm)

That said, it's the probably the best there is to offer in Perth. I've been to the one on Wanneroo Rd (Annies), the one in Fremantle, the one in Subiaco (Santa Fe). I hear there are still two others from me to visit (Tombstone) and another one up in Joondalup?

That's seriously unacceptable service. What if your cake had been dairy free or gluten free or catering to some other allergy, and because of the staff (and the other table) you wound up with a cake you couldn't eat?

I would have said something nasty to the other table.

I never even thought of that - man. I can't imagine how frustrating that situation would have been for someone who did have a serious food allergy. I suppose they would have to emphasise the allergy to the restaurant, and *maybe* the staff would take more care, but what a horrible thing to have to deal with all the time.

oh how fricking annoying about the cake. Iw ould have ranted and raved SOOOOOO much!!! Maybe the birthday person from the other table didnt buy a cake so they didn't know and someone who bought it shut up about it

But Evelyn is right, it's just no on. I think i would have cried. I considered eating there but you made me change my mind :P

Haha - to my knowledge Melbourne doesn't have a Lindt cafe? I think there are just the 3 in Sydney, in all of the world...

[i.e. bait to lure Katherine to Melbourne has failed...]

Just hand them a note saying:

The members of the coprophilia society sincerely hope you enjoyed the cake we "made".
