Right in the beginning, when there were just about 10 of us, the security guards and cops came out and threatened us with every punishmen they could think of. About half of the kids went to class then, the rest of us stood our ground and explained that there was no way we were going to watch the hatred without doing something about it. Throughout the day, as our group grew in size (and loudness!) more and more kids just walked out of school, but the security gaurds took their names.
According to the security gaurds and the news reports, I guess they'll be suspending 80+ kids on monday? If they do suspend us, we plan on having a massive Suspension Party!
I'm so proud of you! You probably got Eli (fish_kid)'s comment on Birls. He was reading his F-list, and he was like 'Baby, come read this!', and I was like OHHHH, THATS MY GIRLLLL!!!! Hahah! :)
I think that its amazing that you stood up for your rights that way, and that the rest of the community joined! If you can, see if you can tape the the news tonight and YouTube it! :) I'd love to watch the coverage, and what they had to say.
Oh, and add me on Facebook? Just search Elizabeth Sterling Diefenbach.
I requested you on facebook! I've got some videos and stuff. And there are videos on the internet from news stations. There was actually an interview with me on one of the evening news-es!
And I did get his comment! I know it's in there somewhere!
Brit, this is AMAZING. There were a few of us participating in the Day of Silence today, but our school had nowhere NEAR the kind of support that you guys had. Props to you guys!

Just out of sheer curiosity, though...what did the school have to say about it? Regardless, that's an amazing thing you did. Well done!

Kids at our school have tried protesting suspension and it always ends really badly. :(
But I'm soooo looking forward to proudly serving whatever "punishment" they can deal out!
