Left: Thor, Center: Odin, Right: Loki <- their backstory is preeeetty much that of Norse mythology.
In the Marvel world, Thor was originally sent into a mortal's body by Odin. Ima send you to the Marvel wiki for more since I've never read any of Thor's solo series, just Avengers books.
