I never read many of the Marvel comic "What If" series, but google has just informed that a Wolverine/due South crossover is less crazy than one would think:

i like how the whisky gets mentioned as though it is of equal importance!

seems to suggest adamantium claws are common enough that a baseline for "normal" has been established. alrighty then!

Hee. I cut out the part about Gerard making bootleg whisky, so the mention of its destruction wasn't completely random :p

I keep my adamantium claws shiny and above the norm.

Have you read 18th Wolverine? His claws are made from bones in that one.

/comic book nerdery: ON. His claws are always bone! They've just been covered by adamantium (when Magneto hasn't ripped it all out of Wolverine's body, anyway).
