Sorry for my lack of activity on here in the past week or so, I'm just beginning to get over a real stinker of a cold. Even Lemsip wouldn't shift it!

Thanks very much to agirlnamedluna for the Stephen Baxter novel, my mum bought me the first one for Xmas, so hours of fun reading ahead! :D ( Read more... )

short stories, family

Welcome! I started worrying it didn't arrive because it shipped at Christmas, and other people were having trouble with amazon and buying off wishlists, but I'm glad it arrived!! It actually sounded really good, I might get it for myself at some point LOL.

david gemmell's drenai book aren't that fat and are all stand alone. and ellen kushner's swordspoint is standalone and tiny :( (cos it's great it should be bigger!)
but th at's it! i think confessions of an ugly stepsister is on the small side too. but most of my stuff are huge fat books/ the fatter the better!

I love Kathy Reichs books but they are more like 400-500 pages.
I also like the Kinsey Millhone Mysteries by Sue Grafton which are more like 300 odd pages.. They are a set of alphabetical books- A for Alibi etc. you can by box sets of A to J on amazon I believe.
They are crime thriller books but not too heavy going.

Has she read J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas books yet? My parents are crazy about those and Kathy Reichs's Bones series.
