I've read that short story recommended by traum121 and kurama_aijo. It was interesting, and I liked the Chinese cultural references. But the detective part was a little... flat? I don't know. It didn't keep me guessing. There wasn't much of a mystery. Maybe it's because it was just a short story? Are the novels better? I gotta say, when it comes to solving ( Read more... )

I must sadly confess that I haven't read the books, but weren't the "Unfortunate Events" kids wonderful characters? Agreed, the story became predictable, but I believe the characterization made up for it. I hope they do a sequel before the kids get too old to star in it ... and I hope I can track down the books and start reading them.

Series of Unfortunate Events was a very interesting movie, and so cute, but it did get a little predictable near the end. I loved the siblings - and their quirky talents. The funniest parts had to be when Sunny would speak baby talk and they'd have the "translations" at the bottom of the screen.

I think I heard the first movie covered at least three or four books all together. They're fairly small books.

I'd read that fic if you posted it - the brotherly one. Not familiar with the fandom, but as long as it isn't a ship in a fandom I'm unfamiliar with, I'll read it. :-)

I posted that brother fic last time at my fic journal, kiresa. The one I'm working on now is also about the brothers, but their relationship is not so much the focus on this new one (though I'd love it if you took a peek). I might be able to post it this weekend. :)
